The Problematic of the Unproblematic

Shuk:  Yaay! It's the final episode!  No more of this spiral of ridiculosity!

Shuk: Two. More. Episodes.  [reaching for the makgeolli] JoAnne:  I had a Mai Tai last night.  May it fortify me now. We are in too deep to stop now.

Shuk:  We are on the downside to this series, and boy, am I ready for something to happen that’s not PsychoBride or SexyAdGuy sadface. Or LeoThink.  Wouldn't be a nice change for something else, anything?  Maybe a drinking game, where you take a shot every time Whiny starts screaming. JoAnne: Better play that game IN the emergency room, because you WILL get alcohol poisoning. EPISODE 18 Shuk:  With the hope of escaping via The Taoyuan Airport solution, Sexy has renewed determination. TaoParents exact a promise from him to always put their daughter first, no matter where they end up. He fervently nods and heads out to make plans.   Shuk:  TaoMom grabs her daughter and starts throwing things into a suitcase. Chalky is confused, until TaoMom explains the plan to haul ass to the country of AnywhereThatsNotTaiwan. Shuk:  Ah, the Truck of Doom. Too bad it became the Unicycle of Apathy. The show has slowed down like the locked-up brakes on a 1981 Chevy on a levee. Could someone get me some caffeine? It might make me care a bit more. JoAnne: Leo picks the MOST wrong time to finally take some action.

Shuk:  I am so done with you, Show. Who yanked out my Sexy AdGuy’s spine?  Can you bring it back pretty please, jusayo, onagaishimasu, por favor? JoAnne: I'm still in shock that they just GAVE THE FFFF UP.

Shuk:  Our PsychoFam is giddy with the idea of chaining their creative genius to a woman with the IQ of a walnut and a codependency coefficient that is off the chart.  Oh yeah, this will bring success to your company.  And your homelife. JoAnne: Let's rename HuanHuan to HuwhineHuwhine, shall we? SHUKNOTE: This week's feed could only be found with embedded Mandarin subtitles.

Shuk:  Our ugly conglomerate family shows its true colors, reducing our guy to the equivalent of Cinderella. But in this case, there are no balls on the horizon. JoAnne:  I, for one, would prefer Aaron with balls.

Shuk:  It was hard doing a preface for this episode.  So much of the last several has just been a repainting of the same old tired elements. Still, one can always hope for something more. If not, there's always Aaron Yum looking thoughtful. He does Thoughtful so much shmexier than PDull Leo.

Shuk:  I want sexy times!  The cat is out of the bag and it's high time our couple cleared the air between them and try a little angry sex to get over the negative emotions. Just saying. JoAnne:  Fair warning.  I'm not feeling well and I'm cranky.  Enter at your own risk.

Shuk:  Argh.  The story gets muddled in all sorts of ways as the stuff hits the fan, we finally get our Big Reveal, and our characters come face to face with hidden truths and exposed lies. JoAnne: I can think of some hidden things that should be exposed.  None of them involve Huan Huan or Leo. Or Lance.  Or Whiny for that matter.

Shuk:  I had a rough time with this squeecap, mostly because I didn't understand the reasoning, motivation, or just plain logic of anything anybody did.

Shuk:  We have finally reached the Stalker Edition of the story.  Truthfully, does anyone have a chance at a normal relationship anywhere in this storyline? Is this really how they think people should behave when they are attracted to someone?  Wait, I just remembered the previous episodes, and respectfully withdraw the last question… JoAnne: This is rapidly becoming the OTP of my nightmares, and when you consider how much I like Aaron, realize how deeply distasteful I find Tao Zi's general attitude of despair, depression, and angst. We all needed to drink for this one.

Shuk:  This episode left me with a bad taste in my mouth. All my shows seem to take a dive into WTFkery this week, but the decisions made by our folks here made me wish I had a cat, just so I could throw some cat toys at my screen.  I started using other languages when I ran out of synonyms for "idiot". JoAnne:  So you have a situation, and you have the right way to correct the situation, and you have the less right way to correct the situation, and then you have the absolute wrong way to correct the situation.  If you are a boy, which one do you choose?  Is that even a question?
