Rants and Weekly Raves #308 (RAWR)

kakashi: Trot is taking a break from RAWR because real life sucks (hang in there, Trot!), I'm doing this and that which amounts to a lot of everything but drama watching and hey! you guys like to chat in the comments even without us writing about dramas, right? It's all yours.

Flower of Evil 악의 꽃 - Episode 6 (Recap)

Image
kakashi: We continue down the rabbit hole of ugly reveals and new twists, near-hits and not-quite misses. I'm still impressed by the quality of this script AND the acting of our two leads. JoAnne: I'm with you - it gets better every week and with a story this twisty usually it we'd be seeing some WTF moments but nope - this story and the people telling it are terrific!

Flower of Evil 악의 꽃 - Episode 5 (Recap)

kakashi: Shit hits the fan and blood begins to flow. Something tells me it's not the last time I'm going to say that before the end of this drama.  JoAnne: We are in deep doo doo, it is true. But I am left feeling that this drama will now become Wifey helping Hubby reclaim his good teenage name and I am ALLLLLLLLLL about it.

kakashi: High time to start Season 1 of Secret Forest ! Lmao. Fangirling is through the roof everywhere. I also started writing Levi Fanfic. It had to be done. Trotwood: Don't force yourself. You may not like it. The characters are quirky without the stereotypical relationships, so . . . I'm being cautiously optimistic about Season 2. I'm going to watch, of course, but with bated breath and in protection mode for season 1. I keep meaning to try to cath up with Crossfire, but I never seem to get around to it by the end of the week, and I'm getting further and further behind. JoAnne:  Conversely, I've watched more lately as I've decided sleep is only a rumor. Can't keep that up, though. Panda: After watching 14 seasons of Midsomer Murders, I sadly had to say goodbye. I simply couldn't gel with John B and the new coroner etc. Sigh. Now I need to find another Crime show to binge... (whispers "watch Chip In")  I guess I'm craving the cold, haha

Love & Destiny 三生三世宸汐缘 - Episode 60 END (Recap)

kakashi: A long journey ends! Thanks for sticking with us, y'all! It was a joy as always. JoAnne: I did always love Ling Xi

Trotwood: I hope other people watched things this week because I didn't have time to watch much. Last week of teaching, mapping out new work responsibilities during COVID, and the slow death of my personal computing device took much time away from watching. I didn't even time to rage bake, which meant a lot more rage, of course. Kakashi: I am watchig Flower of Evil , enjoying it a lot! And Attack on Titan , but slowly (she said - before staying up until 2am). I'm still reading Historical Romance books like there's no tomorrow. Those books can be slurped up so quickly I do about one a day and immediately forget what it was about. At the moment, I particularly enjoy Tessa Dare (she is very humerous) and Eloisa James . JoAnne: I'm all about Flower of Evil now that Okay Not Okay has ended. And ended perfectly. Panda: Ooooh Tessa Dare and Eloisa James :) Noiice. I am also reading everything and am now on season 14 of Midsomer Murders. I had to say bye to Tom B and it h

Flower of Evil 악의 꽃 - Episode 4 (Recap)

kakashi: Nice. Just fool us, drama :D The tables turn, then turn again. Feeling as dizzy as I am?  JoAnne: I just keep focused on the belief that Hyun Su is misunderstood. Well, not misunderstood, but badly treated and ostracized and backed into corners. Having a personality disorder does not make you a killer. Having a crazy, serial killer father does not make you a killer. I'm staking my heart on him being a peaceful person at his core.

Flower of Evil 악의 꽃 - Episode 3 (Recap)

Image
kakashi: For the entire length of this episode, my heart beat way too fast. Goddammit, what a ride! Things aren't what they seem or are they? The plot thickens but then again... not at all.  JoAnne: I love another damaged JoonGi creation. Is anyone even the least bit surprised? He's a bit like your wolf here, right?   Poor pup . Yes!  *sobs*

Love & Destiny 三生三世宸汐缘 - Episode 59 (Recap)

Image
kakashi: The Penultimate. Thank Gods for smart female leads. JoAnne: Thank God Kakashi is someone who knows what penultimate means.

Flower of Evil 악의 꽃 - Episode 2 (Recap)

Image
kakashi: Hm, I might be wrong about everything I said at the end of episode 2. Our Male Lead might well be a psychopathic serial killer for all we know. And yet, the drama manages to make me pity the young him. How mean everybody was... JoAnne: I'm with you. Well, he's certainly the son of one at least and the whole thing about his emotions? Could have knocked me over with a FEATHER.

kakashi: I'm at the office. I have a headache. I also started watching Season 3 of Attack on Titan (finally! But I really couldn't stomach something as brutal and sad as that during the Corona lockdown). I will go look for Levi fanfiction next.  Panda: I sound like a broken record but yep, still not watching any dramas. I think I am just going to wait for Secret Forest 2 (A great birthday present). I am still binge-ing through Midsommer Murders and I just realized I have now read 393 books this year. WTF JoAnne: I am busy trying to save the world, so I'm not watching much. I only watched Flower of Evil this week. Oh and Lost Romance - still on the cute side of things, happy to say.    Trotwood: We keep getting government guidance that keeps changing which means that we need to keep updating our plans, but soon they are just going to have to stop because we are in the implementation phase. I'm trying to find balance, so I went berry picking last week and picked ten pou

Flower of Evil 악의 꽃 - Episode 1 (Recap)

kakashi: The older I get, the fewer weaknesses I have, but Lee Joon-gi remains one as does Kim Ji-hoon. I'm going to recap this drama anyway because they're both in it even though it's tvN (= very long episodes). With episode 1, we're off to a swift start , have no clue what's going on and meet a ton of characters. I'm intrigued. JoAnne: That's funny - I find I indulge myself a lot more, return to things I liked as a child, even.  Dollhouses, sewn toys, all that. I don't have much time these days but I do love a good Joon Gi drama and Kim Ji Hoon is always a treat, and I have missed working on KDramas with my dear friend here.  The story could suck donkey (insert your word here, there are several) and I would still jump to participate. In fact, the bad ones are the ones we have the most fun on! (But this one is not bad.)
