kakashi: The description of this drama ("Lee Gwang-Jae (Kim Ji-Hoon) is the son of a rich family and he is immature. His father dies and leaves behind large debts. For his father's honor, Lee Gwang-Jae struggles to pay off his debt. Kim Young-Ha (Kim Joo-Hyun) with her bright and positive personality supports Lee Gwang-Jae") makes me weep. This is going to be bad. And 50 episodes long! The good news: each episode is ONLY around 30 MINUTES (the not so good news - there are four of those each Sunday). Wish me luck.

Trotwood: This week sees a bunch of finales, for which I am grateful because I don't think I could keep up with this rate of drama watching. From what I'm hearing and feeling there is a wide range of feelings about these endings: love, bewilderment, detachment, and rage. But we are talking about dramas here. There's always a lot of rage at endings. "God's Gift: 14 Days," anyone?
SakiVI: As I was saying last night on social media, one reason I have been feeling reluctant to start kdramas this new cycle is because of the annoying way the characters never speak up.  They just let whoever else rant at them and I feel so frustrated. Also, I am still sick. So annoying for me.  But a lot of tv does get watched!

“W…why?” to her annoyance, Shao Wan felt herself blush. Had they finally found out about the kiss? She had been expecting their teasing to start for quite a while, but nothing so far. She searched Donghua and Zhe Yan’s faces, but she only saw concern there, no mockery. And… she realized there was something like guilt in Donghua’s. Very strange.

As she stayed under the shade of the grove’s oldest Peach Tree while her steed gobbled on a nasty diet of creepy crawlies that it had retrieved from a rotting tree not far away from where they sat, she frowned at the picturesque scene in front of her. It was always a perplexing sight to see someone who had the power to level down worlds tend to a farm. But her Mother did love to cultivate plants, a passion she and her Brother had picked up on— her Brother, mostly, because he was such a sycophant. By stringing so close to Mother, her toady Brother also gained the favor of their herbalist First Uncle. Just looking at him now as he excitedly showed a sapling to their Mother was enough to make her want to gag.

JoAnne:  I suppose we were lucky to have him be somewhat ambiguous even this long.  I definitely enjoyed debating myself on whether he was a misunderstood good guy or whether he was just not YET a really bad guy.

Trotwood: I just thought you were in shock after taking my challenge of "Really Jo, you are watching nearly every show on the planet" and realized you are currently watching 18. I counted and I have far too many (21) that I want to be watching, and that isn't even counting the upcomimg shows (like Pretty Noona Brings me Food) for which I'm excitedly waiting. I'm dropping and/or not starting a bunch. I'll just have to read about them here.
SakiVI: I am just not interested in any of these new shows, save for Untouchable Lovers, and have instead been marathoning Schitt's Creek.  It's hilarious.

The wind pulled on the candle’s flame, like a lover in pursuit, slicing through thick, pungent air. Steeped in silence, the only sound audible in that bedchamber were the faint crackles produced by the wicks that remained burning. A marked contrast from the mayhem ensuing in her head.

Have I gone mad? Have I contracted an illness? Has my body been taken over? What kind of beastly thing did I do just now?!

A-Li figured he must have slept the sleep of the dead. How Huo Zheng had crossed over his body to the floor, gotten dressed and left their room — all without waking him up — was beyond him. She was indeed very much like a cat.

As he hurriedly got dressed, he happened to walk by the table and saw a tied scroll on top of it. A-Li picked it up but, upon seeing the characters that indicated it was the ledger on which Huo Zheng had recorded a written account of her dreams, he placed it back down and left for the Duchess’ hall.

Many attendants waited right outside the steps that led to the door along with a frantic-looking Duke, who wordlessly nodded to acknowledge his presence.

“How is the Duchess?” He quietly asked Cai Jin who, like him, stood behind the Duke.

The day had just broken, the sunrise casting a purple hue in the sky when Mo Yuan and Eighteenth prepared to set forth from Kunlun. Although he had told Chang San not to bother with a send off for him, the latter had not heeded his words and bowed deeply before him.

“Rise, Chang Shan,” Mo Yuan repeated for the third time.

“Shifu, I will keep Kunlun exactly how you left it, awaiting your return,” his second disciple said earnestly.

With a small smile, Mo Yuan shook his head. “No. You have kept the place running for the last hundred years. You know all of Kunlun’s secrets. I grant you free rein to implement whatever changes you have in mind.”

“But Shifu-”

“Chang Shan, I do not know when I will be back. I plan my studies in the Demon realm to be extensive and they may lead me to other places afterwards. I also know well what you are capable of, and I place Kunlun in your hands with absolutely no reservations.”

Trotwood: Back from a conference to drive into blizzard, so have some drama watching time! Not much but more than last week. March is not playing around anywhere it seems. There's snow storms all over the northern hemisphere. Jo, are you really going to watch all of these new dramas? It's like they are procreating.

JoAnne: Hell, no. Here's the process: I list all the ones I either think someone might watch or that I know someone is watching, from Mon-Tues shows right on through to the weekend. I like them to be in order. Anything without an entry under it gets deleted before posting. If it becomes clear that no one is watching, I don't even include anymore. And then you guys will add things that you're watching that I didn't put already. (So readers, what she means is that there are a lot of dramas on this draft post. Even more than what you see in the final version.)

As she climbed up the stairs to the hut, Mei Lin reminded herself that she was only there out of concern to tend to Gun Gun’s wound. She would treat and leave him, immediately!

She held on to her basket, and looked around the simple and almost bare space that Li-Gē and Gun Gun had made for themselves.

In the corner, to the right, was a stand with an empty copper basin and a pitcher of water tucked below. Beside that was a makeshift shelf. It held an assortment of towels, clothes and even tools which were organized in a way that only men could understand.

She had been decidedly dragged out of that courtyard, out of Fenyi Palace and out onto the bustling streets of town by a certain master whose grip was like an iron shackle on her wrist, pulling her along at a determined pace. But why?

Trotwood: Stop!! I don't think I can handle all these new shows!??
JoAnne: I keep looking at the list and thinking how ridiculous it is. There's no way.
