Hello Liebster Award Mania!

Image
It's raining Liebster awards in the KDrama blogger community! I love the name (and wonder who came up with it?) and I love that I got nominated - or rather, WE got nominated, because I'm definitely not blogging all by myself... lafer, Shuk, JoAnne, bcook, latteholic , this is for you, too! *clap, clap, clap*  Thank you so much, kfangirl , for thinking this blog is mention-worthy! It means a lot to me to be nominated by you in particular because I love your blog - you do the best (and probably the longest) reviews ever. I particularly value the ones you did for Vampire Prosecutor and Vampire Prosecutor 2 because VP is among my Top 10 KDramas and I cannot wait for Season 3.  Friends of VP are friends of mine ... and good friends of VP are good friends of mine! So, the rules for receiving this award properly (after being nominated) are: List 11 random facts about yourself. Answer the questions designated by the blogger who nominated you. Place YOUR nominations for t...

Random Thoughts on ... the Pros and Cons of KDrama Viewing Methods

Image
How long have you been a Kraddict, dear reader? It's been three years for me. And I remember how I devoured everything I could get my eyes on in the beginnings of my addiction. Nowadays, I have become a bit more selective. In fact, I drop things faster than hot potatoes - which makes me a very bit more selective. And you know what? I have realized this is probably just as much related to my KDrama viewing behavior as it is to the quality of shows (which, some say, has been rather poor in the last few months ...). Below you find some thoughts on KDrama Viewing Methods as well as their pros and cons.    Marathoning Marathoning refers to the watching of an entire season of a TV series in a short period of time. The high art of marathoning is when you watch the whole series in one sitting. Pausing for toilet breaks and some food intake is allowed. Pros : Marathoning is probably the best method to watch Kdrama (and any other drama you want to consume). Why? Becaus...

10 Reasons I'd Choose the Kdrama World over Real Life

Image
Ahh, the Kdrama World. The more I watch, the more I get "Kdrama World envy." Sure, if I actually liked a guy and he barely gave me a lifeless peck after 16 weeks of relationship angst, I'm not gonna lie - I'd be more than a little disappointed and might have to take matters into my own hands. And of course there is a 150,000 times greater chance of getting amnesia. But there are certain aspects of the Kdrama World that you just can't beat. Here are my ten reasons, in no particular order, why I'd rather live in the Kdrama World (KW ) versus real life (RL). 1. In RL, I can spend 2 hours on a hair style, walk outside and within 10 minutes the style is kaput.  Lucky the woman who lives in KW! Have you been grabbed by the wrist and now have to run with your guy through rain, sleet, snow, or high winds? No matter - your hair will be perfect when you stop.  Not only that, even if you time travel and are away for months, you never get roots! 2.  Speaking of weat...

Living in the Sea of Denial - Coming to Terms with My Kdrama Addiction

Image
While Kakashi is away, she has handed her blog over to me for safe keeping. All of the sudden I found myself wondering how did someone like me, a suburban housewife from the good ol' US of A with not one drop of Asian blood in me, ever got involved with blogging about Korean Dramas? It seemed to defy logic. Oh, my introduction to Korean dramas started out innocently enough, when I recorded what I thought was a movie to be saved for viewing during my rather habitual bouts of insomnia. When I watched it I was like "WTH? There's no setup, these people are going to sleep on the floor in their clothes, and they are yelling and smacking each in a foreign language!" But I have to admit, by the time the cliffhanger ending came, I wanted to see more. Imagine the feeling of joy that came over me when I searched the TV guide and found that same show was actually a series! And would be on next week--twice! I started looking forward to my weekly meetings with ...
