Anne: Trying a different color... I watched a bit more this week. I'm dreading Monday because it's jury duty time. I haven't gotten a notice for at least 10 years, and within 3 months of changing the address on my driver's license, I get selected! On the upside... I can spend a LOT of time watching shows as I wait in the jury pool room. (On a side note... I'm really liking this color.) Trotwood: I never get picked!! There was a point where I was hoping to be picked and be sequestered because I was so tired of regular work and I wanted an excuse not to have to respond to anyone, but alas I never get picked.   (Updated on Monday night) I think everyone feels that until you actually go through one of these... I'm so glad I have unlimited data because the Voir Dire always drags on that feels like a very long and unproductive meeting. I actually never have actually been "picked" as a juror, just for jury duty into the general pool. As soon as I saw that the...

Anne: I will try my hand at starting the weekly RAWR... Although sadly, I haven't watched much this week. I've been occupied with my new role as the party planner for my department and creating presentations for our new hirers. The new Dr. Qin debuted...and it stars one of my favorite actors (Zhang Yu Jian). Can you tell how excited I am? Trotwood: I'm still here! Next week is my last week. What show is this? Are you adding to the dramas that look interesting but we will probably never have time to watch category? What's funny is that I had this on my list as well. Medical Examiner, Dr. Quin is EXACTLY my kind of show, but really if I don't have time to start a show when it first starts, I know I'm never going to have time to watch and catch up, especially with 3-4 episodes coming out every week. Yikes! That's the pace? (Why am I even surprised?) I actually did start this...it's quirkier then the one with Zhang Ruoyun. Although... do not ask too many qu...

Trotwood: I'm not going to be leading RAWR anymore after July, but the blog will still be here and Kakashi is working with some readers to turn the space over, so there is still somewhere for people to drop in and talk about dramas. I know some people were worried it was all going to disappear, but it doesn't look like it. Hurray!!! " Interesting, but I know I am never going to watch": Mysterious Love is exactly the kind of drama I should be gobbling up. Sixteen 30 minute-episodes with romance and mystery, but I just didn't have time. I watched the first episode, and it seemed clunky but also looks like the kind of show that might get better once they are done with setting up the complicated plot. I had every intention of watching the first episode of Monthly Magazine Home because I really like Ji Suk and Jung So Min. It also has other actors that I like, but somehow it started and I didn't even know, and I'm not is space to "catch up" on a sho...

Trotwood: I'm drowning in being behind in dramas. I've just given up on some, even those I really like. I'm still two weeks behind Miss Monte Cristo, and there are so many more dramas coming our way. I thought I'd have more time once my semester was over, but then I signed up for two Korean classes and there are all those projects to prepare for a fall that still has moving health targets, and I already feel like summer is over. I love sports dramas, but it looks like I'm not going to even start Racket Boys. I love Zhu Li Long even more than sports dramas, but there is no way I'm going to have the energy for his 40-episode angst-filled The Rebel though it looks lovely. KOREA Sell Your Haunted House Viki is subbing this drama really slowly, so no. I have NOT seen the last episode because Viki hasn't subbed it yet, so please, NO SPOILERS. The egg ghost is back, and I'm not going to lie, it's always freaked me out. I was impatient only because they had ...

Trotwood: I've been reading and writing more than watching lately. Work was sad and exhausting last week with me falling asleep at night in my work clothes more than once. I spent the weekend just catching up on trying to make my apartment remember that a human being lived in it rather than some sort of cave creature. Didn't even watch some of the things I like this weekend, like Dark Hole or the crazy Miss Monte Cristo . Probably should have since I need Kim Ok Bin's beating up alien zombie energy going into this week. I'm hoping to catch up on a lot next weekend since it is a holiday weekend in the US, but then again, I might just sleep.  Is anyone watching Use For My Talent ? I really like Jasper Lui, but I didn't start it when it first happened, which means I probably won't get to this one either. Sigh.

Trotwood: I am back to strong internet, so I have been able to watch dramas. I had a great time with my mother, ate pie, and bought hats. Still, I feel as though, there are so many dramas that are out that I am just never going to see, and I'm much more fine with that than I was before.  I love both Lee Bo Young and Kim Seo Hyung, but the new Korean drama, Mine, has nothing about it in which I'm interested, so it's a pass for me although I'm sure with the two of them the acting is going to be on point.  Also, is anyone watching Miss the Dragon? The people on my t-list either hate it or find it comic for the wrong reasons. Everyone looks really pretty, though.  Kakashi: I still have no desire to watch anything. The last thing I ffwarded was Shadow and Bone . Only for the Darkling scenes though. Poor misunderstood bully. Occasionally, I wonder about the Fated General and its fate.

Trotwood: Evening meetings or events every night last week meant no drama watching during the week. Not a lot of time to catch up on weekends either until June. Giving everyone a head's up that I won't be able to post next week because I am going to surprise my mother for Mother's Day. Both my parents got their second shot on April 7, and I have not seen either of them in over a year. I have talked to my mother on schedule every weekend since I went to uni at 5:30 am on Saturday or Sunday when you used to pick the "cheaper times" to call and we were a 4-hour time difference, so it needed to be scheduled. I plan to show up at 5:30 and call like normal, but this time when she picks up, I'm going to ask her to let me in. She will cry. I will cry.  At any rate, the subsidized housing in which she lives has really really slow internet, so I won't be able to watch anything next weekend or post, so . . . Means another week where I won't be talking about the e...

Trotwood: I'm just trying to get through the end of the semester with the typical April stress and all the April events. It seems like there are even more since they are all virtual and everyone is trying so hard to give graduating seniors wonderful things to remember after such a hard and bizarre year. A 3-day weekend meant nothing when I had to work all of Saturday. I feel like I get to watch less and less and have energy for watching less and less. I just want to sleep. Law School premiered last week, starring one of my favorite actors, Kim Myung Min, but I know I'm not ever going to get to it, so here's this week's picture.  kakashi: OMGaaaaaaawd, it's Tuesday again! lmao, forgetting to post RAWR in time is my new normal. Someone pointed me to a NYT's article yesterday and I self-diagnosed as yes, indeed, languishing. I don't feel like watching anything except for Nanatsu no Taizai with my kid. We're running out of episodes so we will start on Sea...

Trotwood: COVID cases are rising in my state and around the US. We saw the largest numbers of positives last week that we have had since the pandemic began. I'm guessing we will see even more in the next two weeks because people went home for the holidays (the week before Passover and this past weekend Easter). I'm exhausted--being leader of testing logistics team, public relations, and community education was pretty tough last week. The reviews are going to be sparse. Is anyone watching the Chinese dramas Love is Science or Unusual Idol Love  or Dilraba's new one,  The Long Ballad ? I even heard that Ivy Chen has one out, but I don't think it's subbed. Is anyone still watching Mouse and/or Beyond Evil ? Which one is the better choice for thriller/suspense fans? I'm going to keep up with the new tradition of posting posters from dramas that I will probably never get to watch here unless someone has a better idea for a photo. The Long Ballad

Trotwood: More and more shows are popping up, and I really have given up. Thanks to Kakashi for the post about the cancellation of Joseon Exorcist and lessons about not making assumptions. It looks like historical controversies are hitting another drama even before it airs. But we shouldn't complain as viewers because there are just so many dramas coming out and so many that are being subbed. Thanks to subbers the world over for giving us so much content from which to choose. Zhang Han has another show airing now-- One Boat, One World -- with thirteen episodes out already. I'm almost relieved that no one has subbed that one yet. Anyone watching? Anyone watching Palace of Devotion ? Can someone tell me (with spoilers blocking on) what happened in the time traveling Times ? One Boat, One World poster kakashi: I'm in one of those time loops again where time flies by and nothing ever happens. It's very warm and very pollen polluted here. I keep watching the anime Seven ...

Trotwood: So many new dramas! I'm not able to keep up with everything. I mean I suppose I should be happy that people were able to work so much with everything that has been going on in the world, but I'm also feeling like I am being slowly overtaken by a drama flood. Joseon Exorcist and Navillera started this week (hopefully, I'll be able to start reviewing for next week), but 12 episode of Palace of Devotion (with seven subbed) and A Love Story: You are the Greatest Happiness of My Life just dropped 14 subbed episodes all at once 14 hours ago after premiering last week! I have a regular job, people. How does anyone manage to watch all these shows and still work? I might be able to catch up with the Korean shows, but I've already given up on the Chinese ones. I'll never catch up with being 12 episodes behind from the beginning. kakashi: I'll be watching Joseon Exorcist too! (Wooooow, I'm going to start a KDrama, wish me luck!) I watched both Yin Yin M...

Trotwood: I feel very fortunate to have been able to get the vaccine. All staff who work in testing sites in my state were on the list after first responders, health care workers, and nursing home employees. But boy dose #2 was a doozy. I haven't had body aches like that in forever. Most of my staff didn't look much better than the zombies in Kimi to Sekai ga Owaru Hi ni during our meetings on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, I didn't even bother turning on my camera--reporting out from my bed. We were all laughing about it though because we realized how fortunate we are. kakashi: Switzerland is so slow that I will get my vaccine in May at the earliest. Hahaha. Not funny. My dad gets his first shot this Thursday though and I'm so glad about that.

Trotwood: I didn't watch much this past week or weekend, which is when I usually catch up. There was snow and snow day baking. Thus between the near 16 inches we got last Monday and the additional 8 inches this weekend, I didn't get to much. Started a Saturday Korean class, so there was homework to do as well. I did pick up some new shoes in between snow storms, but I'm behind in everything--even them--except for Manner of Death. kakashi: Is the pandemic good for Chen Kun or not? Please discuss. Oh, now I remember I wanted to watch and recap Yin and Yang Master before today (not the one with Chen Kun) but... my husband bought me another kitchen gadget last week, inspired by my loving fervor of my air fryer (who, by the way, is named "Gary"). It's a thermomix, we named him "Aquila". It has an internet connection and I'm a little afraid of it but I made brioche dough yesterday. It is still rising, but I will put it into the oven in about an hour. ...

Trotwood: Snow. snow. snow. As of three hours ago, we only had 12 inches (around 30 cm), but I'm not complaining because other people have had up to 17. It is still snowing pretty hard, too. I'm thankful that I don't have to go anywhere and no one has lost power. I'm looking for something fluffy to pick up where people don't annoy me. Suggestions? kakashi: Here it's rain, rain, rain. I went to the dentist today and it was anxiety inducing. Too many people about! I got take away for tonight though. I watched All Creatures Great & Small (Panda made me do it) over the weekend, it's cute. But I'm not in the mood to watch anything, I fast forward everything these days.

Trotwood: I have been trying lots of shows, but I just don't have patience for things I used to have patience for. Like I have no patience anymore for the hate-turned-to-love trope. I'm finding that they are making some of the people--more often the male lead--so hateful that I know I'm not going to be able to get over the mean, often cruel behavior, no matter how much I learn about why he's hateful. Also, those characters that people find cute that are silly and always end up in people's houses or apartments or such, eating their food, leaving messes, but people put up with them because they are cute (I guess). No. Why would anyone want to date someone like that? Just get a dog. And those eager workers--usually heroines--who keep messing up at work, but we are supposed to like them because they are cute (I guess) and earnest? NO. They need to be fired. They just make more work for the rest of their team.  I'm just a cranky drama watcher this week. Kakashi shoul...

Trotwood: I have to start going back in to work today, and I had nearly a full blow panic attack about it. Heart palpitations, sweating through clothes, nausea to the point of almost vomiting. I ended up mopping all my floors to get through it. At least I only have to go in twice a week for rest of semester, and once I get used to it again, I should be fine. Plus my floors are sparkling!   Kakashi, see my comment on Asian Web Dramas and Shorts below. Have we ever reviewed a Vietnamese drama on RAWR before?   kakashi: I don't believe so! It's an excellent idea to do short reviews. I am sorry to hear about your work situation, Trot. I'm back in full home office as of yesterday. We're under lockdown again. In other news, I nearly fainted when I saw Levi in the latest Attack on Titan episode. My god, he is so damn sexy! I admit to having watched those few seconds at least ten times already. I demand a Levi spin-off.

Trotwood: Even though I was on vacation, I didn't watch many new dramas. I did a lot of rewatching of old favorites and reading manga that was gifted to me for Christmas. I also got sucked into watching videos about stationery and office supplies, which is a problematic addition of mine. I really don't need more notebooks and pens, but . . . You know you have a problem when you aren't an artist, but seriously consider buying a pencil case that would hold 55 pens! I include a link, but there are over 300 videos, so if you don't have time or have a weakness like mine, be warned! kakashi: I am back at work and about to going into 5 hours of discussing other people's work. I'm absolutely not motivated. KOREA The Uncanny Counter The evil that is in this town isn't confined to the demons that the Counters are supposed to be hunting. In fact, as I've said before I think the town is so full of these demons is because there are so many evil humans for them to ab...
