Top 5 ... (Unknown) Shower Scenes, Take 4

Image
When I went shower (+ bath) scene crazy and scored big thanks to YouTube, I also found quite a lot of shower scenes that I simply cannot place. But I'm sure that the combined brain power of KDrama lovers will succeed! Who can name these dramas? Unknown Shower Scene 1   Identified! by various commentors as Thank You (2007). Jang Hyuk! Unknown Shower Scene 2 (most likely) identified! by lili as Bae Soo Bin in Temptation of an Angel (2009) Unknown Shower Scene 3 (most likely) identified! by lili as Park Hae Jin in East of Eden (2008/2009) Unknown Shower Scene 4 (Probably) identified! by Anonymous and Anonymous (who seems to be enz) as Delightful Girl Choon Hyang (2005). So this would be Uhm Tae Woong. Unknown Shower Scene 5 Identified! by kopytko (with the help of latteholic) as She is Nineteen (2004). So this is Yoon Kye Sang? Unknown Shower Scene 6 Identified! by kopytko as Love Story in Harvard (2004/5). This is Kim Rae Won, wh...

Top 5 ... Shower Scenes, Take 3 (The Lighthearted)

Hello, chingus! I have been AWOL a little, but nobody seems to have missed me much. Good. My short absence was due to some RL issues, like work. Lots of it. Pfff, RL sucks... But I did find time to marathon Stars Are Falling from the Sky - as foreseen in my last shower post - and I fell even more deeply in love with smoking hot Kim Ji-hoon. He really isn't afraid of showing his beautiful body! I have now bookmarked this page and will watch all the available dramas with my current number one love (that used to be Park Shi-hoo, but, alas ... and *le sigh*). But where were we. Ah, shower scenes (yes, Kim Ji-hoon actually has a second shower scene in SAFFTS, but I was unable to make a gif so far). It is important to know for the Kdraddict that not all shower scenes are broody. Some are neutral ("just" shower scenes, or rather, random fanservice), some are even a little tiny bit funny, some are really funny, and some are sweet. In this third installment of KDrama shower sc...

Top 5 ... Shower Scenes, Take 2 (The Broody)

The response to the first Shower Scenes Post (SSP) was overwhelming. Thank you all for your interest and support! Quite obviously, however, the first SSP did not cover all Korean shower scenes. Suggestions for more and different ones were made by the dozen in the comment section and I vowed to hunt them down ... all of them. Well, I know I did not get them all; but I got many, many more. This is the first of three additional shower scene posts. Let's start with four broody ones, plus Eric in Que Sera, Sera . This is fanservice for lafer and enz. These ladies will not shut up about Que Sera, Sera and how awesome it is. I'm caving in. Stars Falling From the Sky (Kim Ji-hoon) I know I will have to watch this drama soon, because I have Kim Ji-hoon withdrawal. The hair is terrible, but I do like my Korean actors all sweaty and bothered. Hmmmmm, he is so tasty. Top marks, Kim Ji-hoon, I couldn't give you anything else! 10/10. City Hall (Cha Seung-won) The poor guy. He...

Top 5 ... Swimming Pool Scenes, Take 2

Image
My last Swimming Pool post was a bit lame. Well, not really lame... But a bit too intellectual? So I decided to do another one. This time, with men being half-naked and nothing else. To find 5 additional swimming pool scenes with half-naked men, I had to bend the rules a little: Usually, my Top 5 posts only contain dramas that I have seen. This one here contains only two dramas that I have seen and three that I have not. Like anybody would care ...  Choi Siwon in Oh, My Lady Choi Siwon is one of the idols I know and can identify on the spot. (Yay! I'm really proud of myself) And when I looked up his list of dramas just now, I was quite pleasantly surprised: 10? And then I went and read about him on Wikipedia and I learned that he was an actor before he was a member of SuJu. That explains why he is not half-bad as an actor (I actually really liked him in King of Dramas ). But here, we are not much interested in acting skills. Choi Siwon has abs to die for. He really should o...

My Top 5 ... Underwater Scenes

Image
I like water a lot. And my shower scenes and swimming pool posts both made me thirsty for more water, so here we go! I could also have put "My Top 5 ... Drowning Scenes" in the title (for that is what most of them are about), but that seemed a bit too morbid? You may have noticed there is a surprising amount of people (almost) drowning in KDrama. When somebody drowns - I am sorry, almost drowns - it is almost always to mark a turning-point in the story. A bit more poetic, you could say it often symbolizes re-birth ... even if it is as an amnesiac. All the almost-drowning scenes I know have the same eerie beauty to them: the blue of the water, usually a light shining from above, a body sinking, sometimes struggling ... Here are five underwater scenes i.e. almost-drowning-scenes from KDrama You’re Beautiful My first cross-dresser drama. Loved it. And I will always fondly remember the days when Jang Geun-suk wasn't yet crazy. In this particular scene from episo...

My Top 5 ... Swimming Pool Scenes

Image
This post is the little brother of the shower scene post . The baby brother post, really; there's nothing that can top a KDrama shower scene. Not even a swimming pool scene. In fact, I had troubles finding five swimming pool scenes with, ehem, half-nekkid men. For whatever reason, I thought there were tons of them, but when I got serious about writing this post, I failed to find them. Therefore, I went as diverse as possible in this post to show that swimming pools serve multiple purposes in KDrama. Sometimes, it's to show off the swimming abilities of some of the actors, and sometimes, it's to show them in tight wetsuits, dripping wet and ... where was I? Ah, yes... sometimes, the swimming pool is not merely a site for eroticism, but part of the story. Etc. I give you: Five noteable swimming pool scenes, in no particular order. 49 Days You thought Reapers cannot swim? Not if said reaper is played by Jong Il-woo. I happily quote from a Korean article translated ...

My Top 5 ... Shower Scenes

As the astute watcher of KDrama is well aware, there is almost no sex in KDrama. I say "almost no sex" because there are several instances of where the characters obviously had sex or are, rarely, about to have sex (i.e. when they get pregnant after, like in I Do I Do , or when they wake up in bed together, like in Personal Taste , or when they are in each other's home and don't leave, like in Cheongdamdong Alice - or is this my dirty mind imagining things that were not there?), so technically, there is sex, but simply not on screen. That's not very surprising, given the fact that most shows air on public television and Korean society is generally considered a conservative society. We get the occasional kiss (most of them terrible) and, behold, we get the occasional shower scene (most of them terrific). Shower scenes almost always involve men (as opposed to women, though there are exceptions) being "naked" (to the waist) and taking a shower - and mo...
