The Problematic of the Unproblematic

What is going on, you ask? Well, it's quite obvious! I miss my Kim Ji-hoon. Plus, this is the wedding episode!!!!! And the world really needs some cute these days. This drama is so damn funny. How could I not have watched on? Thank you, drama slump!

You could think that having Kim Ji-hoon on my screen for more than two hours for 27 weeks would satisfy my Kim Ji-hoon cravings? Wrong. It makes me more greedy. And while I wait for my next Jang Bori craziness, I suddenly remembered that I have SO MANY more episodes of GEoDiL to recap. Just lovely. Unfortunately, this episode is extreeeeeeeeemely boring. But it looks like the wedding is next! Yaaaaay!

The wedding preparations continue! We have overcome the hurdle of the Mothers-Who-Object and have started to overcome the honeymoon issue - but the next bigger thing are the weddings gifts. You'll see. Marriage ain't easy - for nobody involved! Let the wedding wars start!

It's meet the families time! Yikes, this is when worlds collide ... Of course, Boksu and Mijin get over their tiny little rough patch and are back to loveydoveysweetdeluxe in no time. I could watch them all day. Just looking at them being in love makes me very, very happy.

We are getting closer to the wedding - but we're not. Well ... you'll see what I mean. This drama actually does a fairly good job in portraying the difficulties of marriage that stem from it forcing often completely different families together. Everybody is growing on me. Apart from the vicious Mother-in-law, of course. And her mopey son.

This show is getting cuter and cuter! In this episode, even Boksu's father is nice and funny. Slowly but surely, the mothers' hearts are won over and then, not much more will be in the way of the wedding. That's me being an optimist becuase ... yeah, 54 episodes. We cannot rush things, can we?

It's a winner! This episode brings us lots of cute between our OTP and takes us huge steps forward with regards to them getting married. It's wonderful to see two people really happy and in love ... well, but then there's the mothers. They're not happy. Not at all.

It's been a long time since I last recapped one of the GEoDiL episodes ... too much else going on in KDramaland right now! And even though our Kim Ji-hoon has a new drama, we have to wait at least two more episodes for his appearance there! This little project here was always meant to fill the Kim Ji-hoon void ... so I'll continue filling it a bit more.

On we go! I'll do one Nikita, one GEoDiL episode in the future so that people needn't complain :) This story develops in baby-steps, but there's still enough funny in every episode to make it a sufficiently fun watch. Episode 9 Mijin is on her knees, begging. The whole Lee family turns their back on her - and violent Boknam even kicks her out, into the alley! Poor girl.

Oh dear, it's been a while since I watched anything Korean! My La Femme Nikita binge-recap is such a satisfactory business, I have indeed forgotten all about that other world. Okay, almost forgotten: I know I have 47 episodes of GEoDiL to recap, don't you worry! Forget Kim Ji-hoon? Impossible! Episode 8 Dooly has woken up in her (ex?) boyfriends house. Mortified, she flees as soon as his mother turns her back on her. When she creeps out, she does that rather funny thing with her head; and has absolutely no chin! It's quite fascinating. See?

We have now reached YouTube territory, dear readers, so join me in watching this! It is worth it!  Episode 7 Boksu meets Dooly in the market place ... and tells her to buy a present (fruit basket) beforehand. Oh wow, he is really going to do it ... And oh wow, she is in a foul mood. And oh wow, he is shocked when he sees her new dressed-up self!! Abort! Abort!!! This is definitely not grandma material ...

It has been more than two weeks since my last GEoDIL post! For reasons well-known to you, I would think ... had to life-stalk our lead! Too bad the meet-up didn't happen. There is no point in being too angry with him, though, since it most likely isn't his fault at all. So, let's soldier on! Episode 6 Boksu is worried about his Dooly, who still hasn't turned up to work. Yeah, you broke her heart, you meanie! Dooly is still in bed, hiding from the cruel world and her broken heart, while her mother, the happiness coach, lectures a room full of giggling women about how you need to love yourself, be strong, and not mope after a man. 

So ... I'm most likely going to see Kim Ji-hoon in about ten days. In the flesh. Though not much OF his flesh, since it's going to be up on a mountain and in the snow. But since I can't believe it until it happens, I will keep his company by doing another KimJiCap. Episode 5 Truth-time on the rooftop (which isn't a rooftop at all). So, Boksu says she would suffer if she married him and would regret it. And, knowing her, he just know she would just run away because of it, turning him into the fool that has to go after his runaway wife - or burn it all to the ground. She absolutely doesn't see WHY she would do that while he is absolutely adamant that she just WILL. Sorry, but I'm on his side. I really don't like his family either ... even though I would prefer that one over his GoM family anytime.

How are these episodes so quickly over?! Oh ... they're only 50 minutes long. Okay, but still, I'm having fun with this one. Much more fun than I had for a while with KDrama. Good. Cause this sucker is 54 episodes long. What was I thinking??!!! Episode 4 Dooly is in the car! She has road rage. Her mother is trying to get some friend of Inwoo to go look for him - oh wait ... is it the sleaze-guy? Jaehong? Oh yes, it is! Sleaze-guy would do anything to get close to Mijin, it seems. But Mijin isn't all that interested in that. She comes storming in, storms into her room, throws herself on the bed and has a rage-fit.

Wonderful. I just realized that this little recapping project of mine will keep me busy for more than half a year, if I recap 2 episodes a week. That's perfect. No boredom for 6 months. Lots of Kim Ji-hoon for 6 months. All I ever wanted.   Episode 3 Shower scene! No, not Kim Ji-hoon. Damn. And you really need to learn to respect people's privacy, Korea! The man is naked in the shower!! And hey, other dude ... if you just can't keep back and really need to intrude, maybe you shouldn't comment on the other's great body? Unless, you know ... you would like to get to know that body a bit better? Which you do not cause you clearly have the hots for that other chick?

Kim Ji-hoon will be in this country in two weeks and I better get some more KimJiCaps done before he gets here. So that I can, uhm, show them to him? No? Episode two of this show continues as zippy and funny as episode 1 was and I am mighty pleased. Episode 2 Boksu is dragging his Dooly (remember? a new fight with the quarrelsome customers) out of the department store, to give her another scolding. He seems particularly unhappy about the fact that he, the guy, has to clean up the mess his woman has made - instead of the other way round. Haha, those two ... is this subversive gender critique?

  OMG I'm doing it ... I'm really doing it! In my post-GoM craze/sadness, I have decided to take on a major recapping project ... the 2007/2008 drama Golden Age of Daughters-in-Law / 며느리 전성시대 ! It has 54 episodes (goodnessgracious!), and was a ratings' hit back in the days. It is hated by many and thus, was never recapped (kakashi The Brave is going to change that). It is hard to get your hands on, but I can tell you where to get it if you are interested (although, it is a hard-subbed version). And ... there is Kim Ji-hoon. So, in a nutshell, this is like Goddess of Marriage, just longer and much funnier. I hope so, at least!!! But let me introduce you to the cast, before we get started (copy & pasted from here ).
