Trotwood: I'm exhausted. I feel like I have a case of senioritis even though it's winter. Senioritis, for those of you who don't know, happens to seniors (in high school or university) when they are close to being done but aren't yet, but their bodies and minds are ready to be done, so they start slacking off from work. It's like they can see the end of the line and their bodies are ready to just be there already--that's how I feel. How can I be in the holiday spirit when I'm in charge of pre-holiday COVID testing logistics and making sure homeless students have places to live (and food) during the break? Mei Lin had mentioned earlier that its residents barely comprised half of the populace, as most of the people one would run into in Lijiang were tourists from the northern states or merchants stopping by as they set off to trade with countries to the south and west. As an economic hotspot, its government officials did not lack money to build and refine its infrastructure. All of its roads were made of cobblestones, where mules and yaks in caravans loaded with burlap sacks of tea, salt and silks traveled through nonstop. Water passed through the entire city, and was made more scenic by a well thought of arrangement of bridges, winding roads and waterways. Kakashi: What I did this week: 1) Fixed our rowing machine, which included buying a new bungee cord and attaching it. 2) Finished a chapter for a textbook. I should only have updated it but I ended up completely rewriting it. I think it is marvelous. 3) Lived life. Li felt relieved that like the other living things that he had brought back with him from Hùndùn, this one made it intact as well. kakashi: I watched the Zoom horror movie "Host", which is kind of ridiculous, and thought that Zoom meetings are horror enough without vengeful spirits. Over and out. Trotwood: I didn't get to start any of the Chinese dramas that were recommended, partly because of time and partly because when I had time, I just wanted to rewatch something comforting that I knew instead. What are some of your go to comfort rewatch shows or episodes if you have them? I included episodes because I have some show episodes that I watch when I need uplift like episode 14 of My Name is Kim Samsoon. In case Samsoon fans don't remember, it's the karaoke episode. KOREA My Wonderful Life Tables were flipped all over the daily drama watching universe during last week's episodes of this show. kakashi: First snow today! My cats aren't amused. I bought and erected a winter tent for my most delicate plants and am celebrating this as my weekly achievement. Today, I will go buy Chorizo Jam. Saw it in a shop last week and hesitated. Why, when I knew I'd buy it eventually anyway? Trotwood: It warmed up here enough to have that cold front/warm front clash of torrential downpours, dangerous winds (enough to make driving tough), and threats of tornados. Jo and I are feeling lucky we kept power. I'm watching some new drama, but there are so many dramas out there that look interesting but I have no time or energy to start even with a holiday in US last week.
