The Problematic of the Unproblematic

Lafer here. It's contest time again! To celebrate the fact that there are many loyal followers, aka squeeglets, I thought I would use bcook's totally awesome idea of having a trivia contest (because, if you are truly a loyal follower, you know I love contests.) This is not so much about dramas, but about our writings about dramas and drama-related subjects. Everything can be found in one of the posts from this blog.

Well, there's more hanbok competition in this episode (that's always a win in my book!!) and a lot of suffering on Min-jung's part, which make me like it even more. I like that Bori and Jae-hwa are kinda together, but hey, what about scratching the "kinda" and give them some 뽀뽀-time? Or rather ... a real, deep 키스? In any case, with this episode, Jangbori breaks 20%! Well done, everyone! JoAnne: They should seriously consider my suggestion from last episode, of removing Jae Hwa's pants whenever he's not out in public. The ratings would double. kakashi: But people would die. Too hot!   Or they would bleed out from nosebleed. Or dehydrate from too much drooling.

This is an episode in which each and every word should be recapped because it's hilarious, and touching, and simply awesome. So much cute! So much funny! It's also a turning point: Bori decides not to move over without a fight, and GooDIL decides to start her (soft) revenge. Bring it on, girls! A warning though: hanbok was harmed in the filming of this episode. Do not try this at home. JoAnne: Well, if you do try it at home, don't tell 'em we gave you the idea.

We begin episode 10 with Se Ho narrating in a recording studio.   I’m not sure why, but I’m happy to see his smiling face. He is just so earnest. While this episode is a bit of a let down after last week’s, the feeling of comraderie and lightheartedness of living in the house together is apparent.   And when a special guest comes to visit, the roommates go all out. JoAnne:  They really do.  With all the games that are constantly being played in everything we watch, and ok yes the lack of actual sex in anything we ever watch...I just have this image of them as these sweet naive virgins all hanging out and playing games and thinking pure thoughts.  Oh, I know.  I know. Chan Yeol is probably into leather or something...but I still have the mental image of innocence. bcook: *seriously considers Chan Yeol's leather fetish* Nope...I don't think he's matured into that yet. 

Shuk:  Our ugly conglomerate family shows its true colors, reducing our guy to the equivalent of Cinderella. But in this case, there are no balls on the horizon. JoAnne:  I, for one, would prefer Aaron with balls.

On Yoo Na's Street Mary: (Not sure if this should go first. Please move this to the proper section? Thanks!  Oh, mary can go first, of course! Maaaaary, you go!!!! )  Yoo Na's Street!  That's what I'm watching right now and it's such a gem of a show.  It stars  Kim Ok Bin as the titular Yoo Na . She's a legendary pickpocket who lives in a compound with other neighbors who... uhm... don't work on the right side of the law either.  (Loved her in Blade and Petal and want to check this out just to see more of her.)

Stick a fork in me and call me done. This episode dashed all my hopes of seeing a smart hero any time soon, as Hoon continues to simply react, without to stopping ask why any of this is happening. I want to see you beat the bad guys at their own game, Hoon! But you're not even trying! Jae-joon, on the other hand, is throwing his everything into the game, so I'm just going to focus on him and try to hold back the waves of rage that you inspired. I. Will. Try. *growls* JoAnne: Joon makes me so sad. bcook: Flashbacks. I would like an episode without flashbacks please. KThanksBye

Shuk:  It was hard doing a preface for this episode.  So much of the last several has just been a repainting of the same old tired elements. Still, one can always hope for something more. If not, there's always Aaron Yum looking thoughtful. He does Thoughtful so much shmexier than PDull Leo.

This is it. The final Jeob. The main reason we're calling it WTFParis. Sex ghosts and nail-diagnosed depression ain't got nothing on the WTFery of this hour. Prepare to say goodbye to the Handjob Harem, Our Lovely Kei, and your sanity... JoAnne: I didn't even recognize Thunder (Jin) without his pink hair. kakashi: WTF, seriously.
