Novoland: The Castle In The Sky 九州·天空城 - Episode 18 (Recap)

kakashi: Can Fuling be saved from the curse? Or will Feishuang get what she wants? Lots of sweet and some bone-chilling crazy in this episode.

Episode 18

Our pretty Regent drinks the concoction to share the curse with Yi Fuling. The doctor does magicks and... Feng Ren realizes something is wrong. Yes indeed, he has been duped by Feng Tianyi. He threatened the doctor, who gave the Regent something unpleasant.
As much tricking as goes on in this place I can't imagine why anyone ever trusts anyone else with anything.
WKE lies down next to Fuling and says: "Yatou, I've come to accompany you." *swooooon* A noble fool ... so hot. He even takes her hand.
Remember when I said he wasn't all that attractive, before I started watching the show? Hahahahahahaaha
The doctor makes them share the curse...
They are one smokin' couple.
... and Feng Tianyi spits a fountain of blood after the same red markings appear on his body. Now they both lie still. It failed! The doctor, who has to fear for his life, screams they need to find the one who started the curse to save the two patients.
Oh NOW he realizes this?
Feng Ren knows it must have been Xue Fei Shuang, but where to find her? The doctor knows she must be hugely suffering, these kind of curses backfire like crazy. She'll need a huge amount of medicine just to survive. Cut to Yu Huanzheng, who gives Fei Shuang medicine. She doesn't want it because it's too bitter. Well, she herself is bitter. She knows she is dying, but it's worth it, if Yi Fuling dies with her. Duh.
That's not bitter that's crazy.  

It doesn't take Feng Ren long to find the two. However, when his soldiers storm the house, they have left through a secret door, it seems ... but no, they just hid underneath the floorboard. Feng Reng is not that stupid though - he is waiting for them outside.
Oopsie.
But what is this? Before Feng Ren can negotiate his terms with Huanzheng, someone throws smoke bombs and kidnaps Fei Shuang. Guess who? Ken doll! Whatshisname... Xiang Congling, the one who slept with Fei Shuang. She isn't exactly pleased to see him. Well, it's soon solved because he gets pierced by an arrow in an attempt to shield her from Feng Ren's men. He dies (wanting to atone for his crimes) and she jumps. She has wings, remember. I think it's that same cliff again.
There's only one cliff in China. It's the mirror image of that one cliff in Korea.
Searching Huanzheng's hut, Feng Ren finds a looooong red fingernail. Ewww. Gotcha. At the palace, Fuling wakes up and finds the afflicted Tianyi next to her. He, too, opens his eyes. First thing he does: be concerned about her. You've come a long way, Wingkind Emperor! Well, at least they're in bed together, I call this progress. He's really sweet and says things like "Without you, what's the meaning of me living alone?" He is just happy they will die together.
They really are cute when they're not being stupid morons.
He kisses her (on the forehead), a lonely tear escapes her eye. He says this is the happiest moment of his life, even though they're going to die soon. This is very, very sweet.
Yeah, yeah.
Discussing how they will find each other again in the underworld, Fuling ties two strands of their hair together. Humankind tradition: knotting hair = tying the knot = being married = never separating. Damn, girl. You're a fast mover. They're so happy.
I just thought it was to keep them together, although it's not exactly very sturdy, ha.
Feng Ren, following the red fingernail cue, pays the Bone Flower Witch a visit. She tries to seduce him with her newfound youth, but he is immune to her poison and her "charms". You go, Feng Reng!!!! We see that he scratched her with her own fingernail, which makes her turn back to her true (old) form. She attacks him, but he manages to ram her fingernail into her throat. She dies.
I have stabbed myself accidentally with a fingernail a couple of times.  Painful.
Oh no! Feng Ren has been hurt by her, too ... he quickly covers the wound up. I hope he'll be fine?! Our couple is still in bed, talking about dying. Only ... the marks are gone from their bodies. They're healed! He kisses her, this time for real, and I'm pretty sure they do much more afterwards, seeing how they're in bed together already.
Seriously, as quickly as they get into fights and all, they should just do it when they have the chance.
Tianyi, who is still weak but is otherwise fully recovered, goes in search of Feishuang. She is dying, hiding in a cave - her special hiding place that only he knows.
Like a rat.
She hopes him coming to find her means Fuling is dead, but nope. I am quite impressed that he doesn't shout at her, but it seems he is just sad this woman became a lunatic. He grabs her and holds her, giving her comfort.
I give her credit for keeping true to her crazy self right up til the end.
Feng Ren - who is patting a black cat :D - is informed about a mysterious wooden box they got from Huanzheng. It's the box he got from Fuling's father, but nobody knows how to open it. Feng Ren doesn't believe Huanzheng doesn't know ... and decides to torture him a little. By threatening to crush his valuable hand. Vile. I think he really is a bit crazy, our Regent.
We don't know what happened to his wife, either, do we.

Well. I'm glad Feng Tianyi and Fuling are still alive, it would have been boring without them! They were really sweet, aww.
There's no story once they go.

Feng Ren is crazy, but I like him.
I don't, really.

The scene between Tianyi and Feishuang was unexpected. He was not angry at all, his usual mode, but very sweet. I guess his brush with death has turned him into a sweetie.
He was always a bit sorry for her, I thought.
