The Problematic of the Unproblematic

JoAnne: When I rawr this week you best believe it's for Lion. Trotwood: He is perfectly delicious, and I'm so glad that his first rom-com lead is something that is playing upon all his abilities and is good. I'm hoping that now he'll be able to play BOTH romantic leading men and psychopaths since clearly he's good at both. kakashi: Just left Avignon, man, the Palace of the Popes is something else! I'm deeply impressed. I'm less impressed about how bad the wifi is on this boat, but I guess you can't have it all.  Panda: I was late to the party but I'm now fully aboard the Lion train. *choo choo*

Episode 2 It’s hot in July, and the fan is already on as Shiro packs up for work. Kenji walks in yawning and complaining about the heat, apologizing for sleeping late and thanking Shiro for making him an omelette.  Shiro warns him to either eat it or put it in fridge because of the heat, but Kenji is more interested in looking at today’s horoscopes. He smiles because Shiro’s horoscope today foreshadows a meeting with love. Shiro rolls his eyes indulgently, telling Kenji that he (Kenji)'s too old to believe in such things, but Kenji pouts. There is no age limit to love! Shiro smiles at him as he leaves. These two just give me the feels.

Chapter 17 - A Most Hideous Beauty written by kakashi edited by Bunny “Gu Nanyi threw him out.” “Out? What do you mean?” “Out over the wall,” Ning Cheng smirked. “Braided hair flying, arms flailing. How disgraceful!”

JoAnne: Did everyone have a lovely Easter/Bank Holiday/Regular Ol' weekend?  (Edited to add:  Sorry for the delay in publishing.  It was not because of the holiday, but I did get distracted.   Thank you for your patience, dear squee-ers.) kakashi: Public holiday galore, I'm so tired and it's so hot. I'm also off on a cruise, bye. Oh, and still crushing on Kakashi Hatake. I found Fanfiction. It's very bad. I might have to write my own. (It's somehow kinkier if it's a manga character)  (Update: so I started to write one and I can tell you, that fandom is something else :) Won't publish it on the blog though, it's on Ao3 and as an afterthought, on Wattpad) Panda: Regular ol' weekend, it rained all through, and I got a cough and cold. Watched a lot of soccer for some reason though... Hmm Trotwood: I did nothing much but chores and some work and read fanfiction and reread the BG recaps for nostalgia's sake. It's going to be a week of 10-1...

Trotwood: I’ve decided to work myself back into recapping by doing something small. I have been planning to recap Crisis with Hidetoshi Nishijima and Oguri Shun for awhile now, but I no longer have access to downloadable versions of the show with eng subs, and the project will take much more energy and emotion than I have now with the end of semester stress. I still want to do it, but it's going to have to wait until summer when my students are gone. Kinou Nani Tabeta also stars Hidetoshi Nishijima but is a warm, calm show (at least so far) and even though I don’t know how many episodes it will be (it’s based on the manga of the same name so . . .), each episode is only around 30 minutes, so it's much more manageable than most shows. It also is making me feel good--soothing even with angst. I mean look at our main couple at end of ep 1. Eating ice cream on the sofa at the end of a long day is exactly what I need at this time of year.

kakashi: In this episode, Jin Mi gets all the good things. panda: She does look very happy in the below pic. JoAnne: That grape's got nothing to feel sad about.

Chapter 16 - Stones Have Hearts Too written by kakashi edited by Bunny “Please, Headmaster,” Ning Cheng implored Ziyan tearfully, “please stop him from drinking.” This boy was always overly concerned for his Master, but this time, Ziyan was worried too. He had already been able to smell the wafts of alcohol and utter misery at the entrance to the Chu Residence. It had been days since the owner had shown his face and Headmaster Xin knew, the blow he had had to take at court against the Changs had knocked him off his feet.

JoAnne:  Kim Jae Wook.  That is all. kakashi: You are lying to me. It's not true that another week has passed!  Trotwood: Take it from me. Another week has passed. I helped host over 1,000 visitors to my campus over these past two weeks, and I'm feeling like half of them walked right over me. It is really exciting and heartwarming to see everyone, but it sure is exhausting. Panda: Somehow didn't watch more than ep 31 of Priest last week. Counting down to days when I watch nothing BUT dramas. SakiVI: what did I watch? I don't even know. You know we do

Chapter 15 - Jinshi Horses eat Lunch and Dinner written by kakashi edited by Bunny “Scholar Wei!” Ning Yi called out, quickening his steps to catch up to her outside the Palace. Feng Zhiwei stopped and turned around to face him. He found it hard to read her expression today. Had she been worried at all? Or was she getting used to the endless games of intrigue played in the palace, to seeing him stagger from one deadly trap to the next.

Chapter 14 - Poison might be sweet, but medicine is always bitter written by kakashi edited by Bunny Just like one of the expensive royal hunting dogs his Father held, Ziyan had immediately gotten wind of Ning Yi’s elevated state of confusion. Not that he hadn’t teased him about “his pawn” before, only now it had ceased to be mere teasing, it had advanced into sniffing up his legs with bared teeth, ready to sink his teeth into Ning Yi’s flesh at the first sign of weakness.

JoAnne: This was a good drama week. You want to know why? Because it's the LAST week of OUR LIVES that we will not have had Kim Jae Wook, that heavenly creature, as a leading man. I am pre-empting Kakashi's usual ChenPic. See that? You know what that is? That is proof, dear squee-ers, that if you love something long enough, it will make your wishes come true. kakashi: It was brought to my attention last week that Chen Kun doesn't wear anything at night. I'm severely challenged ever since . And there wasn't even any ChenPic in the last few weeks, Jo! I guarantee if you put a bed time pic up I will remember it. Panda: My job really sucks and it actually made me really down last week, but, BUT, hopefully I have drama fluff in way of Park Min Young and Kim Jae Wook to cheer me up :))) SakiVI: Still sick and watching Britcoms with mom.  We are on Keeping Up Appearances and No Job For A Lady now.  I also accidentally sent a half-naked Jaehyo picture to a barn ...

Chapter 13 -Tasting a Sweetness He Never Imagined Existed written by kakashi edited by Bunny It was an entirely new experience to walk alongside Feng Zhiwei in an all relaxed manner, chatting friendly about trivial things. New but rather pleasant. Thus, Prince of Chu walked a bit slower than he usually did just so they would reach their destination a bit less quickly. “I haven't thanked Your Highness yet for the property title to keep my uncle quiet,” Feng Zhiwei said shyly.

JoAnne: I sat outside for a little bit mid-morning yesterday. It was sunny and I only had on a sweater, but was quite comfortable. Even if nothing is green and the bulbs have only just started sending up leaves (no flowers or tree buds yet)...It's SPRING. Suck it, Winter. We are over you. kakashi: I'm still under the weather but it's indeed and most definitely SPRING . SakiVI: Out Sick. See you all next week. Panda: Still can't believe it snowed on Saturday. When will the cold gooooooo? 🎵🎵 let it gooooo🎵 Trotwood: I'm still wearing turtlenecks and sweaters and gloves. As I make this update, it's 24 degree F (-4C). But it's supposed to get up to 45 today, so I'm going to risk it and take my collapsible shovel out of the car, but I will leave the snow pusher thingy in there until mid April.

kakashi: Fun, fun, fun, any episode with Lord Puchi in it is a winner - and Jin Mi hitting puberty (kind of) and doing disobedient things on top is gold. Fans of Nighty will also have a field day. JoAnne: This drama is starting to look like an early 80s music video. Panda: *sings and dances to the Boogie Woogie*
