Marry My Husband Ep 7 (A SqueeCap)

SHUK:  So, the cat’s outta the bag, and our Cutie Couple realize that they both went back in time. So, now what?  I think Teamwork Makes The DreamWork, and I am expecting some massive cooperation to bring down all those annoying obstacles that obstructed them the first time around.

Trotwood:I'm in favor of this. I cannot understand why more shows don't make the main couple a team. There are SO MANY possible problems couples can fight together that it frustrates me that show writers don't seem to be able to do anything but base tension on tension between a couple instead of the forces out to maybe . . . kill them.

EPISODE 7

Now that they are aware of the time skip, there is a frank conversation between them. Boss now knows that Ji-won must navigate through all the problems in her previous life, including her marriage, her cancer, and her murder. Boss didn’t understand previously that the inevitable must be addressed; after all, a lot of what happened to her didn’t affect him.

He does admit to sending Cutie Chef to the high school reunion. But how would he know, since he didn’t meet Ji-won until college? We get the answer: he overheard both the Mean Girls and Cutie Chef at Ji-won’s funeral. Our lady is shaken a bit but gallantly asks how the funeral went.
I'm not going to lie. This would be the first thing I would ask, too. I'd want to know who came, if people were sad, did they get someone good to sing, and if the food was good at the repast.

Sidenote: I've been interested in mourning rituals since I became an adult and learned that not everyone has a repast after a funeral. The dictionary says that a repast is just a mean, but in the African-American community, the term is only used for the meal served after a funeral. There's lots of pressure, too, because the absolutely worse time to bring a bad dish is to a repast.

We get a flashback and a voiceover. It was sad, and a lot of people had regrets. Boss doesn’t mention he had the greatest one of all. Ji-won scoffs that anyone from high school was sincerely upset by her passing.
I love how he doesn't mention the other things he learned at the funeral.
Or the scandalous arrest shenanigans.

They decide to go someplace else and stop talking about sad things. So they go…
… to his house? Yesss!
YESSSSSS!!!!!

The first thing she zeros in on is the cat, who is all about being adorable.
Rubbing up against her and all. Doesn't he remark how the cat doesn't usually like people?

Boss wonders if everything is inevitable (while thinking about his own automobile accident death). Can she run away? Ji-won explains that as possessive her affianced nutjob is, he could easily kill her now as later. She wants to drop it all, but it’s not possible. Boss offers to help, but she demurs.

Ji-won points out that her exact burn scar from her previous life got transferred to his arm. He kinda misses the point, worried that she was/would have been injured. So now they both have things they have to ‘transfer’ to avoid.

We get another flashback. Ji-hyuk took possession of Ji-Won’s remains and put them in a proper charnel house. (Aww. If I couldn't get the above list of items for my funeral, I'd like to know at least one hot namja was taking care of my remains and looking like he was going to miss me most of all) He can’t leave in the rain, though, because his car won’t start. Just like a miracle, though, a taxi cab pulls up. It’s the DadCab! After a bit of talk about Fate, Regrets, and the like, Dad asked the important question: what would you do if you had a chance for a Do-over? Previous Ji-hyuk looks back on his life and missed chances.

“This might sound stupid, but I didn’t know how I felt. If I had, I would have protected her. So, if I get the chance, I’ll take it!” Good answer, Ji-hyuk! Ji-Dad approves.
I just want hug him. Might be helpful if I rub his chest a little bit, too, right?

Back in 2013, Boss finishes his story, glossing over his death that catapulted him back.

It’s early in the morning, and Ms Yang receives a phone call from her deadbeat husband, who cannot pull away from the couch long enough to pick up their daughter. Wait, it turns out he never took her to daycare in the first place. What an azzhat!!
He is totally terrible. What's the justification for him being so lazy? What's with all the terrible husbands in this show. At this point, he's worse than Weasel. At least Weasel and Ji won aren't married yet. This guy made a vow and made a kid and he's sitting around watching TV all day.

Ms Yang thinks about Ji-won’s request for a collab. Meanwhile, a sharp-faced man walks into the building. I think it’s Grandpa’s PA? It seems Yang Mom knows him based on the long lobby stare.  Actually, we get a tiny tiny flash of a flashback where he tells her hates her?
This was so odd. He doesn't seem that mean. And he seems to hate her type. Hmm. I think he's into her, and he hates himself for it. But he needs to stay away from her if he's going to be a jerk. She has enough problems.

At BossHouse, he gets a phone call. Soon enough, he’s striding into the building to confront the sharp-faced guy. He manages to put on another great outfit as armor.
Please more dressing shots. I want to watch him put clothes on more. Lets start from when he gets out of the shower. Do you think he lotions up?
If he doesn't, are you prepared to sacrifice your hands for the cause?

It turns out this guy is Lee Suk-joon (HA DO-GWON), the Head of Strategic Planning, which still makes him Grandpa’s henchman and probably chief executioner. It appears that Boss has been demoted as Henchman is setting up his office. It appears he is now in charge of Human Resources. He claims to only do what he is told, whether for the company or the family. He put a pic on his desk of him with Grandpa and several other people (but not Ji-hyuk).

It’s all about Ji-won as Henchman has her personnel files. Plus we find out Grandpa has tails and surveillance on his grandson. Ji-hyuk holds in his anger, but it’s not easy. Henchman also plans to kick Ji-won off the current meal project as head. Boss storms off, but not until he vows that, by any metric, Ji-won is the  best person for the project.

At the team meeting, Boss has to break the bad news. Snakey and Weasel smile, Sunny is flabbergasted, Ji-won is quiet but upset.

Ji-won chases Boss out of the meeting room. At the elevators he quietly opines that this is great for the two sleazeballs to get more together time, but Ji-won is more concerned over having three managers on one project. He asks for her trust.

On the main floor, Snakey and Weasel are mutually congratulating each other. Sunny is rolling her eyes so hard. Yang Mom hopes the team will work well.
She is just so resigned to everything that it makes me sad for her.

Outside, our SleazePair and sharing some fresh air. Weasel bought her strawberry milk. They flirt and bullshit, simultaneously.
It's almost a gift how well they combine these two traits.

That night, Boss drives to the Han River alone (stop with the Han river!), and goes over the current past and the future past. He punches his hood, upset at how 2013 things won’t easily be diverted.

He ends up at Cute Chef’s restaurant. The two chat, and Boss wonders if Cute knows “Dynamite” or “Spring Day”. It’s clear from Eun-ho's answer he’s clueless about the future, so for sure he didn’t transmigrate. Boss pours a drink and bitterly says the younger man will live a long and fruitful life.
Oh, sad Boss, He thinks everyone is going to live longer than he does, And this one is the one that his Ji-won had a crush on, and he seems perfect. Yes, I agree, Boss. The issue is he is not you. So, he will never get the girl.

Boss ends up shit-faced; Sunny runs in to pick him up. So Cute Chef and Sunny meet! (What a cute pair. I'm shipping them because she's adorable and loves to eat, and he's a chef. But he's focused on his long lost love for Ji-won now) Her faster chatter reminds him of the happy voice from Ji-won’s phone when they were eating desserts and he makes the connection. He is now subject to her fast talk and Sunny-ness!
He's going to need it when his heart officially gets broken.

At her home, Ji-won works on some paperwork. On a thought she calls Boss but gets no answer.

I guess he recovers well as he is out skeet shooting the next morning. And drinking, which you should never do. The house cook made some hangover soup for him and tells him Grandpa is asking for him.

A glass room is dominated by a perfect rendition of Grandpa’s heart. The old man snarks about his grandson’s drinking habits, then tosses a newspaper. Oh Yu-ra of Cloud Airlines has helped U&K with damage control after the Old Guy beating video surfaced.
If I were this grandpa, I'd be concerned with how repressed Boss is. He just seems to go through the motions of living. He doesn't seem to really want anything. There is nothing to bribe or control someone with if they want nothing and think they deserve nothing. Like has he ever seen his own grandson smile?

Grandpa admits that Ji-hyuk will probably lose all the surveillance (that he's put into place to follow him?) but insists that his grandson make nice with Henchman. Also, he wants Boss to make nice with Cloud Air Chick too. I’m guessing this is Grandpa’s choice for granddaughter-in-law, but he knows his grandson will never agree and he doesn’t want to force anything. To be honest, this was a complete surprise. I expected him to want to force this marriage and insist on grandchildren because he is lonely and someone thinks they need more power.

After a pause, Grandpa wants to meet Ji-won, but Boss says he won’t ruin her happiness. I think he has thoughts of his own mortality but wants to help her change her future for the better. Grandpa looks surprised at this. I think he was ready (maybe even hoping?) for Boss to fight about something.

At the office, everyone is sighing over the Rosenthal stocks, which keep rising and rising. Weasel makes a snarky comment to Ji-won about him trading them in for her petty whining. At least he has his TKU stocks, otherwise he would leave her. Ugh. He asks her to step out for a moment.
Meaning that the only reason he doesn't leave her is because he think she will be his slave when they are married.

Five seconds after she leaves her desk, Snakey is all over her keyboard. This is proof to always lock your terminals, people! (Exactly!) She easily backs to Ji-won’s personal investments in Rosenthal stock.

In a corner room, Weasel shamelessly mentions how delicious that $255 restaurant was and casually tells Ji-won that he wants to go there with her, too. On her dime. He’s seriously burned that he cashed in his Rosenthal for her. He also wants access to all the money he gave her.
Someone needs to start smacking or punching this cretin soon.

She plays idiot and tells him she put all the money into a policy with a ten-year maturity. He wonders if he should sell TKU and reinvent in Rosenthal; she has to stop him from doing this at all cost. She dangles a little money in front of him and he’s happy. She also offers to set up a picnic for the three of them.

At this picnic, Ji-won gets tag-teamed bullied by the SleazePair, but she doesn’t care anymore. As they lay back and digest, Ji-won flashes back to Snakey offering to off her, and Weasel physically assaulting her. She jumps up in fright, but covers up her reaction by claiming a bug landed on her. When things calm down, she gets a phone call from Ms Yang and runs off. So the SleazePair are left together.

But it wasn’t Yang Mom but Cute Chef. They meet up in front of her office. He has a big bouquet of yellow and red roses to give her. Boss watches from the window. Luckily, Chef has to head to his restaurant so he waves and takes off.
He really is adorable. And those pouty lips! And he cooks! I'm sorry, Cute Chef.

Boss is upset but can’t really show it to Ji-won. When she arrives inside the office, they powwow and compare notes. She admits to ditching SleazePair to canoodle without her. He talks about two businesses that were spun off the family holdings: Cloud Air and Kelite Tours. He also explains Mr Lee (Henchman) is controlled by Grandpa and wanted Ji-won off the current project. His voice gets husky with sincerity as he promises to do everything she needs.
Husky voice. We are doomed. Toes are curling all across the land. On some variety show, maybe 1Night and 2Days, where Na In Woo (our ML) is a regular, Park Min Young was a guest and she talked about how his regular voice is higher, and he's silly and eager like a puppy but when he acts like Ji-hyuk, he becomes very still and his voice gets all gravel. She did a funny imitation of both.

Cute Chef is checking inventory at the restaurant when Boss arrives. He admits that he is checking Chef out to make sure he is a good man. He warns the younger man to stop attracting women and just focus on the restaurant. Chef is understandably miffed, but stops arguing when he sees Boss’ mineral water  bottle “A Drop of Tears”.
Aww. You know you have it bad when the SL is sorry for you, ML.

The next day at work, Boss announces a team-building workshop will be scheduled soon. Yang Mom and Ji-won agree that Sunny is best one to plan this.
Duh.

Soon enough, we are camping! There’s a treasure hunt planned with better accommodations for better scores.
That's definitely a way to motivate people to participate in something they don't want to anyway.

Most people are lukewarm about this, but Sunny is full on set for 110% effort.
Of course, she is.

In Ji-won's memory, Weasel ends up with only a sleeping bag, but Snakey ends up in the #1 RV thanks to Manager Kim’s efforts. She herself ended up with a tent.

ShukNote: I think Manager Kim is nowhere to be found here thanks to that failed Old Guy campaign. Way to go with the Butterfly Effect, Ji-won!

Snakey overhears Sunny mention Flag #1 is in water somewhere. She grabs Ji-won to ask permission to borrow Weasel to get that flag.

Ji-won ends up in the woods by herself, thinking about Snakey’s ability to get multiple men to do things for her. While walking, she bumps into Boss. Rather than ask for his help to find Flag #1, she asks him for one thing. She appreciates his willingness to assist her, but she wants him to support her decision to change fate with her own efforts. Her eyes get moist as she continues. Since they are the only two reliving this era, please be her confidant and someone she can talk to about everything.
I know there were / are viewers who got mad at her for doing this; however, I was excited that she wanted agency over her own life. She was so passive and accepting of all the terrible that was heaped on her that it's good to see her take ownership and want to be the person in charge this time around.

His answer? He shows her the heart-shaped mole on his clavicle (and she licks it! What? No? Okay. I'll be quiet), and states he is her father’s allowance. So she can use him any way she wants.

See? She could have licked it, and he wouldn't have minded. Just sayin'.

She fires back through tears that she wants her allowance to be happy this time as well.

Weasel is whining that he has #5. Snakey sees him, fakes a thorn injury, and coquettes his help in retrieving the #1 flag.

Ji-won has found the #1 flag, on a ginormous foot-shaped rock you have to swim to. She takes a deep breath and starts in.
Because, damn it, Snakey does NOT deserve to sleep in a camper. I would have swam that lake like Michael Phelps.

At the camp, Sunny runs in. The camp’s safety officer said the water was now too deep to safely navigate by the prize flag. Boss overhears and immediately runs for the Foot Rock.

Too late though, Ji-won is over her head. What, she can’t swim? If she remembered where it was from before, why didn't she have some flotation devices? Boss grabs her when her head goes underwater and pulls her into the shallows. Boss yells at her for being foolish and taking the hard path to do things. She barks back that she isn’t Soo-min, who uses people to progress in life. She will never be Snakey. He’s having a hard time holding in his emotions.

He cups her head in his hands and thinks about their first meeting. He tells her that he wants to be that stable land she can always count on. Aww, hug already!!

Or, she could just lick the heart.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I admit I’m not happy with this episode. There were multiple places for the two of them to practice some real skinship, especially when they had several open frank conversations. Even the fake almost-drown could have used for mouth-to-mouth resuscitation! Of course, I know Ji-won has to make the decision to reach out, but darn, it’s hard not to jump out of my chair and yell at my screen!

Well, you know I feel. They are wasting that heart.

The previews show some real icky moments coming up, so forgive me if there are less pics and gifs. I’m not inclined to celebrate SleazePair togetherness, even though it’s the best thing for our heroine.

Nope. The less of them the better. They're not even sexy together.
