Goddess of Marriage - Episode 36 FINAL (KimJiCap)

Image
kakashi: Alright! That's it. Goddess of Marriage is done and over with. I was ready for anything and I got the worst. Of all possible endings, the writer - who is certainly going for the prize of worst script writer ever - went for the most stupid one possible. Bravo! You didn't disappoint! JoAnne:  I suppose it shouldn't come as any surprise that when I logged in to Blogger and saw the title for this post I read it first as 'Episode 36 FAIL (KimJiCap) kakashi: On the bright side, there isn't a lot of Kim Ji-hoon in this episode. That is good, because it means a short KimJiCap. Oh, and another plus: the Goddess of Marriage finally appears! JoAnne: Unfortunately she's not carrying her bowl of mystical powers and no one dies (Yet, writer-nim. There's still tomorrow. You'll never know when, you'll never know how. Sleep well.)

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 35 (KimJiCap)

kakashi: JoAnne, we've made it! Almost. Congrats! This is the second to last episode and we haven't gone insane and we haven't pulled out all our hair in frustration. At least I haven't. Oups, are you perchance bald?! JoAnne:  Nope, not bald. Puffy-eyed and stuffed-nosed after this episode, though. kakashi: After thinking about possible endings for a while, after consuming as many spoilers as possible, and after silent reflection, I am ready for anything. Let them all die (alone), let them give birth to purple aliens, I don't care. Bring it on. But whom am I fooling ..... this episode is just heartbreaking. Ah my feels :(

Goddess of Marriage - SBS [Midnight TV Entertainment]

Dear friends of Tae-wook (yeah, and you others, too ...) here is the video clip of yesterday's interview by SBS [Midnight TV Entertainment] with the cast of Goddess of Marriage. Unsubbed. But still great. It is an embedded post from Facebook, I hope it works!

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 34 (KimJiCap)

Tae-wook lovers! Are you ready to bawl your eyes out? Tae-wook non-lovers! Are you ready to feel deeply for a character you said mean things about for months upon months?! Apologize to my Tae-wook! kakashi: Sorry for going picture-crazy. I couldn't help it.   JoAnne: He deserves it. You go, girl.

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 33 (KimJiCap)

Image
kakashi: Too much teen-drama over at Heirs for you? Come join us for the insanity that is Goddess of Marriage! Here, we follow the mature lives of abnormal people and their terrible partnerships. Too sad it's almost over. Can't believe I'm still here.   JoAnne: Can't believe you described these people as 'mature.' kakashi: Oh well. .. Episode 33 kakashi: Ji-hye is rushed to the hospital. Good. Cause that means she isn't dead yet. Seriously, you never know with this writer ... she does all kinds of weird things if you don't watch her carefully. A very worried Tae-wook jogs sexily next to the stretcher and implores Ji-hye to wake up (doesn't look too sexy in the gif though, sorry) JoAnne: No, indeed. He looks like a passenger on an amusement park ride that has gone horribly wrong.

Goddess of Marriage - Low Hopes for a Happy Ending?

Image
Greetings, Tae-wook shippers! And non-shippers. We are getting to the end of Goddess of Marriage (4 Episodes left!) ... but how will it end? I must admit, I am getting curious. This is a first for me: seldom have I been that invested into an (overall) crappy drama. Blame it on this guy. In a recent interview , Kim Ji-hoon shared his views about Ji-hye's and Tae-wook's future. T he following is roughly what he told the reporters ( translation provided by Stacey Lee, Admin of the Goddess of Marriage Facebook Page (and edited by kakashi) - the pretty pictures are from kanjo@sportsseoul.com)

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 32 (KimJiCap)

kakashi: Let's just say I do not like that the writer(s) of GoM have suddenly learned how to write cliffhangers!!!! And I do not like that there are only about 5 minutes of Tae-wook in this episode. The rest I like. JoAnne:  FOR REAL. I'd almost think they switched writers. Episode 32 kakashi: It is on! Rival-alert! Will we see blood? Fist-fights? Cursing, hissing, dissing? JoAnne:  I don't even know what I want. I'm so confused. No, I know what I want but there's no way they'd give it to me.

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 31 (KimJiCap)

kakashi: I have been looking forward to the next episode of GoM all week! Too much immature Heirs, not enough Men! Yeah, I have missed Tae-wook. Alright, maybe not Tae-wook, but my Schnuggiputzi Kim Ji-hoon. With all the Heiraballoo going on, my dearest baby might be feeling a bit neglected?! Especially since Kim Ji-hoon's mighty fine nose has been a topic on this blog AGES before Lee Min-ho's schnozzer ever was? (Yes, schnozzer is my new favorite word, thanks to JoAnne) JoAnne: And mine is Schnuggieputzi! kakashi: Oh yes. A very usueful German word! kakashi: This show? Picking up speed again this week, though (or because) we are not focusing on the strives of unhappily married people. So --- I do wonder why it took 30 episodes, but hey! I'm not complaining. Today, I'm constantly rubbing my hands in glee: They evil bitches and bitcherichs are going down! So down! JoAnne:  Do I detect a wee bit of rum tea in your speech, dear? kakashi: I'll need that for Episod...

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 30 (KimJiCap)

kakashi: I'm officially over hating this drama! I really liked this episode! That's two in a row ... I think the bad spell is broken.  JoAnne: We'll see. We've been jerked around by these nappeun namjas too many times already. Episode 30 kakashi: Oups. Tae-wook meets the evil Prosecutor, who really isn't having a good day. The look he gives him? It kills. JoAnne: Now here is where I legitimately feel sorry for TaeWook. He's a lot of things, our TaeWookie, but a criminal isn't one of them. So far. There's still 4,862 episodes to go.

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 29 (KimJiCap)

Image
kakashi: This episode brings us truth-telling-time between Ji-hye and Tae-wook - and I'm feeling disappointment that this drama wasn't always strong like this. But I also remember, though vaguely, that there were other such dialogue gold nuggets in the mud. Better some gold than only mud. Yes.  JoAnne: Some good stuff happened this time. Yes.   kakashi: Also, the long-awaited confrontation between Tae-wook and the MILDragon finally happens. Only ... it really doesn't end all too well for poor Tae-wook. Will you stop bashing him for a while now, Tae-wook haters? Do you acknowledge that it, maybe, isn't all that easy to change things at the Kang Hell House? JoAnne: Awww, did da widdle baby get yelled at by his mama?

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 28 (KimJiCap)

Image
kakashi: People, I think I'm at the right level of inebriation to power through this ... Goddess of Marriage, ftw! JoAnne: I think 'FTW' now must mean something that starts with bad language and ends with Tae Wook. Or starts with fine and ends with Tae Wook. Or it could be a rallying cry: Free Tae Wook! Take your pick. kakashi: In fact, it means "Forever Tae-wook". I'm a romantic. Sometimes.... Kim Ji-hoon, may I call you "oppa"?   He doesn't seem to want that ... kakashi: This episode made me cry! Because ... the quality of the subs was so terrible (In truth, I cried because everyone was so sad. But I don't like to admit that). JoAnne: I was going to say that you cried because you were drinking but you were drinking when you wrote this, not when you watched this. Well, maybe not when you watched this. When did you watch this? Was Lafer involved? You guys had so much fun...did it make up for the sadness of Tae Wook? kakashi...

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 27 (KimJiCap)

Image
kakashi: Hwaiting, everyone! We are 10 episodes from the end! We're getting there! But what will happen in the next 10+ hours? Will somebody die a horrible death? (Yes, please!) Will we see tears? (Of course!) Will Tae-wook shout? (I am expecting it!) Will the Goddess of Marriage finally appear? (Lost all hope for that) JoAnne: She's going to appear and smite them all for messing things up so completely. I still say the only woman who's got any kind of good marriage is the older sister, and she still had to go through a ton of crap. kakashi: I hate this episode for trying to make me hate Tae-wook and I love this episode for giving us hope that the Kang Family might fall after all. JoAnne: I am SO DISAPPOINTED in him. And my GOD do I want that family to just crumble into dust. They are unbelieveable.

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 26 (KimJiCap)

Image
kakashi: Let me call it ... FILLER! At least large parts of this episode. Gaaaah, boring. Why is this drama so long and getting longer? JoAnne, does your dog know? JoAnne: She does, but I bought the wrong kind of biscuits. I'm getting the silent treatment.   Intermingled with the meh was some pretty good  stuff though. kakashi: Yes! Him! (see image below) kakashi: I recapped this really quickly, because Tae-wook broods more than he speaks. I do NOT understand, though, why he broods fully clothed. That is totally against KDrama law, no? JoAnne: Isn't there a website? We should go check. I've decided. You like his nose but for me it's those YIPS, as Tori used to call them.   kakashi: Not only the nose, JoAnne. Not only that. Ah, how I love to do some proper Squee Capping...

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 25 (KimJiCap)

Image
kakashi: This is a sad episode (when it isn't trying to be comical - the dissonance is quite great). Both Kim Ji-hoon and Nam Sang-mi put on some fine acting and I am invested enough (still? again?) to care about this couple. They are hurting - I am not happy. And yes, people: I still don't hate Tae-wook. So sue me. JoAnne: Yeah...your boo was lookin' good this time around. Appearance. Not actions. Man, did he get the truth served to him. Episode 25 kakashi: Ji-hye is wheeled out of the palace on a stretcher. And ... there is blood on her legs. Blood on legs in dramaland? That means miscarriage!!! But ... major "huh?". How can she have been pregnant without the doctor noticing? Or is that pretty doctor a charlatan?  JoAnne: I KNEW IT. That doctor visit could have been ages ago. You don't know. Time gets all wonky in drama-land. They been having sexy ti-i-i-imes...

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 24 (KimJiCap)

Image
kakashi: Oh, yes, drama! Keep it up, keep it up! The only thing I did not like about this episode: there is hardly any Tae-wook and when there is, he isn't exactly amiable. Not good! But otherwise, things are not un-interesting. Yes, I wasn't bored. Ah, my poor baby fool. JoAnne: I'm interested again. Thank God.   Episode 24 kakashi: so, Ji-hye wants a divorce! And she tells him that she will leave this house. It may come as a big surprise (NOT) but Tae-wook doesn't particularly like the idea. She wants a divorce, over this trivial matter? And does she thinks getting a divorce is that easy? JoAnne: Viki comments came down on your boy hard, K. I defended him in my head, though. I don't think his response was anything that ANY spouse hit with that particular bit of unwelcome news wouldn't have come back with. kakashi: Oh well, young folks. What do you expect ... of COURSE people resist it if somebody wants to divorce them. Why else do you think divorce i...

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 23 (KimJiCap)

Image
kakashi: 23 is my favorite number. Will episode 23 of GoM be my favorite episode though? Uhm .... maybe not. JoAnne: I didn't hate this one. kakashi: Me neither. But then, there is a BIG difference between love and didn't hate.  Episode 23 of one of the most torturous dramas I've ever watched, why did I decide to recap again? Ah, yes, Kim Ji-hoon. Kim Ji-hoon, see how I am suffering for you???? kakashi: Oh wow, the episode starts with a breakfast from hell! The mood is ... not chipper, but then, when was it ever? DragonMother seems to have a migraine. I hope her head burst open and her brain flows out. Missing from the Pleasure Table ... the NewNowFallenBiatch. Patron holds this military-sounding speech about how they need to get back their political and economic strength quickly and decisively. And everybody must be careful in the time to come ... all eyes are on them, and there cannot be any mistakes. JoAnne: You know, just because Dad arranged for someone e...

Goddess of Marriage - Episodes 21 & 22 (KimJiCap)

Image
kakashi: Ah! Finally! Something happens! Boredom is over! Our OTP (if it ever was that) doesn't advance one step further, but at least things start changing around them. If the show continues like that, watching it to the end will not be as painful as I feared.   JoAnne: I hate these people. kakashi: Oh yes. I do too. But I prefer to hate while not being bored to death.  Episode 21 kakashi: The Snore drinks alone and mopes - while the MUUUSIC plays. Is it the same table she moped on? I'm sure it is. Because, you know, unmyeong and all! Her rebuttal plays in his head. But does he get it? Yes? Finally? You're a measly one-night-stand. Nothing more! Nothing more! Oh my goodness, he even cries. JoAnne: Oh MY GOD. Would you just PLEASE go sleep with someone else? PLEASE? Reprogram the D, dude. Erase. Imagine that NewP is like a Daalek, and it will 'e-lim-in-ate, e-lim-in-ate' your sad, sad, pitiful OH SO TIRESOME memories of that one night on Jeju-do.

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 20 (KimJiRageCap)

Image
kakashi: We are reaching new lows in this episode, in which absolutely nothing happens and we even move backwards, storywise. I am beginning to suspect that this drama is doing something subversive - but what? Is it trying to make us hate everything and everybody? To destroy our ideal fantasies? To prepare us for MIL hell when we get married? JoAnne: I've been thinking a lot about the title of this drama. Who the hell is the Goddess in this, anyway? I feel like we're in a bad marriage with this show, K. Episode 20 kakashi: Somewhere in the Tae-wook universe, Sourpuss meets The Snore. By the way, I want to kill the person who is in charge of the music in this drama. Everything is already bad, but the music makes it much, much worse. JoAnne: I can't hear the music over the sound of the blood beating in my veins and making everything sort of red while I try my hardest not to kill people.

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 19 (KimJiCap)

Image
kakashi: I have recovered from last week's anger. Barely, though. You? JoAnne: I'm a little ok. But it won't take much to send me into a hormonal rage. kakashi: ... and I have come to the conclusion that shipping any couple in this drama is extremely unhealthy. Therefore, I am detaching myself completely. Just recap. Just recap. Just .... JoAnne: We must make the best of our choice. Happiness is a choice.   Episode 19 kakashi: Back to the impossibility of driving away from him for minutes, then stopping, and being only a few meters in front of him. Wow. This woman must have mastered beaming? JoAnne: This whole stopping thing just pisses me off anyway. They're ON A HIGHWAY.

Goddess of Marriage - Episode 18 (KimJiCap)

Image
kakashi: Gaaaaaaah! %&/%&ç""*"ç"*ç"ç"V! That **** **** ****** (insert swear words). This show is full of hateful, terrible people (but one). Remind again me why I am watching this? JoAnne: I am sure that my outraged and uncensored tweets probably made some of our less... hmmm... colorful friends a bit uncomfortable. kakashi: Let's get ranting. A gorgeous, but exhausted prosecutor gets home after a long day at work. He is obviously tense and in need of ... loooooooove and stuff. He is taking out a huge load of books and documents and carries them to the house. I wish I could call it lovenest, but I really can't. But I love shots that show his ... tight behind. JoAnne: Have you ever walked up the stairs really close behind someone you are involved with and just kind of patted their butt at each step? No? Had it done to you? Try it. It's fun. Don't let him sing opera at the same time though. kakashi: Absolutely. I do it very o...
