The Problematic of the Unproblematic

Trotwood: I have been trying lots of shows, but I just don't have patience for things I used to have patience for. Like I have no patience anymore for the hate-turned-to-love trope. I'm finding that they are making some of the people--more often the male lead--so hateful that I know I'm not going to be able to get over the mean, often cruel behavior, no matter how much I learn about why he's hateful. Also, those characters that people find cute that are silly and always end up in people's houses or apartments or such, eating their food, leaving messes, but people put up with them because they are cute (I guess). No. Why would anyone want to date someone like that? Just get a dog. And those eager workers--usually heroines--who keep messing up at work, but we are supposed to like them because they are cute (I guess) and earnest? NO. They need to be fired. They just make more work for the rest of their team.  I'm just a cranky drama watcher this week. Kakashi shoul...

I am the worst when it comes to my attention span. My family  could tell you all the things I've done once and never picked up again (crocheting, creating golf club socks, playing guitar, painting, ballet, tap...the list is endless).  But I've really had fun with my ET sightings! So what happened?

Trotwood: I have to start going back in to work today, and I had nearly a full blow panic attack about it. Heart palpitations, sweating through clothes, nausea to the point of almost vomiting. I ended up mopping all my floors to get through it. At least I only have to go in twice a week for rest of semester, and once I get used to it again, I should be fine. In other news, I nearly fainted when I saw Levi in the latest Attack on Titan episode. My god, he is so damn sexy! I admit to having watched those few seconds at least ten times already. I demand a Levi spin-off.   

Trotwood: Everyone was so excited to see 2020 go only to have the first week of 2021 seem like a long year already. kakashi: Maybe humor can save us.  KOREA The Uncanny Counter It took me so long to finish watching this weekend's episodes because I was crying so much. If you watched, you will know the scene. I love this show and I love this team, but I was also wondering what they were going to do at this point with the evil spirits on the lose and our team one man down. But this weekend's episodes seem to be a turning point with our team getting permission the Counter legislature (I don't remember what they are called) to go after the mayor and his team. However, if anyone thinks this is easy . . . We know now this show isn't afraid of killing people off. I want some time to watch the bad guys fight amongst themselves for awhile first though. Trotwood: Even though I was on vacation, I didn't watch many new dramas. I did a lot of rewatching of old favorites and reading manga that was gifted to me for Christmas. I also got sucked into watching videos about stationery and office supplies, which is a problematic addition of mine. I really don't need more notebooks and pens, but . . . You know you have a problem when you aren't an artist, but seriously consider buying a pencil case that would hold 55 pens!   Trotwood: It's that time of year again where we usually do an end of year review for the blog. Last year, we even did an END of DECADE review . However, this year was not like any other year not just for us but for the whole planet. This blog was not unaffected by the turmoil going on in everyone's lives. In fact, most of us, despite working mainly if not completely from home, actually watched less dramas not more. I also thought more about what people might like at the end of such a painful year, so  I thought about doing something different for this end of the year post. I was in search of comfort for quite a lot of this year, which for me often (too often) means cake. Trotwood: I'm exhausted. I feel like I have a case of senioritis even though it's winter. Senioritis, for those of you who don't know, happens to seniors (in high school or university) when they are close to being done but aren't yet, but their bodies and minds are ready to be done, so they start slacking off from work. It's like they can see the end of the line and their bodies are ready to just be there already--that's how I feel. How can I be in the holiday spirit when I'm in charge of pre-holiday COVID testing logistics and making sure homeless students have places to live (and food) during the break? I've been watching more anime than dramas this week. Finished Given . Started Haikyu again. Didn't realize there were so many seasons. Any anime recommendations?
