The Problematic of the Unproblematic

kakashi: We're at the final episode! Which is, sadly, very draggy. But it gets us to our happy ending! And they're so cuuuuute. It's all that matters. JoAnne:  I'm holding out for a date at a hair salon for both of them. New hair for a new life! Sparks: HEA for the win! His hair really grew on me and has developed an Elvis association...I'm not sure why. Her hair, though, is unceasingly distracting... Trotwood: I'm still trying to figure out how she sleeps. Shuk:  Extra neck pillow?

kakashi: Alright! Headed straight for a happy ending ... or are we? Oops, no... a little detour first. Trotwood: You were joking about thinking we were going straight to the happy ending part, right? JoAnne:  But this is it. There's no more time. It has to be happy. Sparks: You'd be surprised what you can live through. Whoops, I mean - you'd be surprised what they can cram in 2 episodes... ;) But first we get smothered in their sweetness. *yay* Shuk: I'm happy for whatever happy they give us at this point in time.

Trotwood: I am back to try to help finish up our promise. There has been a lot of anger and slap threats going on in these posts. But this episode gives us love and loss but little anger on my part. The episodes don’t have titles, but I’m calling this one “I Really Want to See My Mom.” kakashi: *sniff* Sparks: It's nice to tap into much sweeter (and some sadder) emotions for a while.   JoAnne: We're so close to the end...that kiss better be from Mars. Shuk: As long as WeiBiatch doesn't show up, I'm pretty okay with it.

kakashi: Argh, another episode to rage about. Why do people have to break up for stupid reasons?! Well, at least, Mars gets his superstar status back - it really suits him well. Trotwood: I'm thinking that we don't need slapping outfits anymore (although the rubber gloves will remain handy) because we should just wear our regular clothes. Too many wardrobe changes would be required here. We need slaps all around like in a lakorn. Shuk: Agreed. I'm just ready to line up all the jerks and do one meters-long slap. JoAnne:  I started laughing at 'line up all the jerks' but I bet only Shuk will guess why. Sparks: This episode doesn't bother me as much as the previous. It's a good episode for Mars - hotness all around. ;)

kakashi: No, we haven't forgotten our girl with the awful hair and her (soon) boy with the incredibly sexy arms! The title song makes me happy. This episode less so. Too many stupid people doing stupid things, and everybody is unhappy. Trotwood: I think this might be one of the reasons we slowed down on the recapping. We all knew what was coming. No number of v-neck tshirts can get us out of this pit. But thank you show cordi for trying. Sparks: I was going to blame the crazy Christmas season but I think Trot's right about the main reason. I call this the "Everyone dump on Momo" episode... Shuk: One gets tired of the same thing over and over again.  JoAnne:  Look how sad that makes Mars. He even wore a new color for us. SakiVI: Again, I didn't watch. So, I'll comment blind, as it were.  Nice how this shirt dips down.

Sparks of Ember: After that last episode, we deserve a cute interlude. But it wouldn't be ToGetHer if things didn't immediately dissolve into childish interactions, right? And also, unfortunately, the implode with Jia Sen we've all been expecting... kakashi: Damn, what color do I get in this recap?! This is creating identity problems for me. Let me just say that I don't like childish behavior in adults at all, but I'm making an exception for Mars, because he's so damn cute when childish. Shuk: The fact that his cuteness covers over the heavy things on his shoulders goes a long way for me. And those singlets help a lot. SakiVI: I didn't have time to watch this, so I'll just comment on the pictures. JoAnne: Fortunately there's always a lot to say about Jiro. Also, I've been laughing to myself because I recently learned that the Mandarin for chicken is jirou, which doesn't sound EXACTLY the same but close enough for Western ears, so now i...

Trotwood: So I am taking my turn as promised to do a recap of an ep of the Mars-Momo show, but I can see why—besides the call of real life work—people were not that eager to recap this one. There is entirely too much Jia Sen in this episode. I say this knowing that he bothers others a LOT more than he bothers me and then there was the painful past and present with mom here as well. Not much cute going on in this ep but there is much marching forward for the couple and their understanding of each other. So there is character progression even if there seems to be not much plot progression. Shuk: I didn't much like his character or his place in the storyline, but I'm glad we can get a glimpse into why his life is so messed up. JoAnne: Oh, is this THAT episode? Okay. *takes deep breath* I'm going in. kakashi: Wait, what color do I get? I'm seriously confused .  SakiVi: the colour you just used, kakashi! I thought the rule was you have to take my usual color because I...

Sparks here, recapping episode 6. There's a change in the wind this episode. Significant events take place and neither of our main characters will be quite the same again! Trotwood: I call this one " Mars in Rescue Mode (part two): Actions show truth" Shuk: I just love how in orbit those two are becoming. kakashi: Yes, if you look closely, it's a very space-focused drama .  JoAnne: Space between their ears, maybe.

SakiVI here, recapping Episode 5 for all you lovelies! [The things I do...] kakashi here, hiiiiiii! (I like the opening song of this drama) Sparks in the house! More Mars and Momo - I'm ready! ;) Trotwood: I'm here, too. I call this episode "Mars in rescue mode: the learning years" Shuk: [rubbing my hands in glee] Jo: watch what you rub, girlie.

kakashi: Our OTP is far from ready to admit they have growing feelings for each other, but their actions and reactions betray them to the people close to them. It doesn't get any easier, for both of them - some hard times are ahead, with room for misunderstandings But they care about each other's opinion and because of that, they talk to each other. Talking is good. Sparks: This was one of the hardest episodes for me to watch. But it's a baby-step in the right direction and I'm all for them getting closer! Trotwood: Yup. No rewatching for me. I usually rewatch an ep before commenting, but it was painful for me as well. SakiVI: I ... did not have such a strong reaction, lol. JoAnne: I thought this was incredibly sad, poor girl. Shuk: She is a little trooper. But then she's had to be most of her life.

So, we found out that Viki (used by Saki) and the DVD versions (used by me) are largely different, which caused us a bit of a headache. A minor one, mind you. It's about 20 minutes of material though. Wow. Trotwood: But this just gives me an excuse to re-watch each episode again before commenting. You know for accuracy sake. Sparks: More ToGetHer - for a drama this cute, that can never be a bad thing. ;) Shuk: Bring on our fuzzy pair of fuzzy feels! JoAnne: But when do they kiss again? Soon? Please? If no kiss is soon, then can Jiro have his shirt off?

kakashi: It didn't take me long to fall for this. Truth is, how could you not feel for this man-child who keeps falling deeper and deeper ... not in love (quite yet), but falling from the superstar sky into the pits of utter humiliation? I seriously want to hug him and tell him it'll be okay. Luckily, he has Chen Momo, who already is his friend, even if both are leagues away from realizing this. Trotwood: I don't know if she considers herself his friend or if she is just the kind of person who wouldn't leave a stray puppy outside in cold even if it pissed on her carpet and nipped at her. But I think once she starts seeing how pitiful he really is and once he starts seeing what it's like to have more than one real friend . . . JoAnne: I'm fairly certain she doesn't think of him as a friend. In fact, I think she dislikes him.  But Trot is exactly right. He is a puppy out in the cold, and she will do the humane thing. Sparks: She's a truly decent person...

kakashi: Hello everyone! This is our new recapping project in honor of Sparks of Ember, who won our "alternative endings"-contest. I am sure that this will be fun, because this is the synopsis of this 2009 drama: "Mars is a superstar whose popularity went downhill after a series of negative publicity. His finances went into red alert and he had to find a new place to live. He ended up renting a place from Mo Mo, his homebody landlord. He befriended her and her childhood friend Jia Sen, a swimming captain with the intelligence of an 8-year-old." I can't wait. Sparks: Hi, all! I'm excited to be here - thanks for the invite! I'm looking forward to sharing my favorite Twdrama with everyone!  Trotwood; I remember loving this show. I watched it in my early years of watching dramas before i had access to much of anything. Poor quality. Half subbed. Sporadic episode continuity. But I remember really enjoying it. I think I was going through the "I mus...
