Jang Bori Is Here! - Episode 52 FINAL (KimJiCap)

Image
It's the Eeeeeeend .... of the world, as we know it. Lalalaaaaaaaa. 52 episodes! Wow! We did it! Congrats, JoAnne! I don't know whether to laugh or cry? Should we have a big party? Or should we get drunk alone and quietly? Ah, and where is Kim Ji-hoon's next project? Is it too early? Why do I have so many questions? Maybe this is some kind of shock! By the way, this final episode is ... well. Haha. Read for yourselves.  JoAnne: Wow... we made it, and quite frankly, we're in much better shape than I expected us to be in. (But we do deserve that drink.) Somewhere about the 20th episode or so I realized that I was looking forward to this show and choosing it ABOVE OTHERS to watch, and the reasons why are sort of perfectly highlighted in this final episode.

Time to tackle this beast for the (almost) last time! To death! To glory! To Min-jung! To makjang! To Kim Ji-hoon! Yes, he made me do it. I feel like I should add a "hicks", but I'm not drunk. JoAnne: I came for Kakashi. I stayed for the krazy.

This is episode number 50 and we're still here! And they are, too. Imagine how exhausted they must be ... This episode is slow at times and it makes us suffer through more Bi-dan suffering but we also finally get to the ultimate competition - which is good. Let's solve this - who is the best sewer of them all?  JoAnne: My mom. Now let the Hanbokers all shut up and go home.

Oh dear, get ready to be shaken, people. This is a very emotional episode, in which some people try to prevent a certain truth from hurting a precious little kid, while others just cannot stop digging. No, Jangbori doesn't go out quietly. It'll first take us on an emotional roller coaster that will leave us shaking and crying. Goddamn you crazy show, I love you. JoAnne: Do they not know we are MOTHERS, Kakashi? I want to kill everyone who makes that little girl cry. (Do you think they'll hit national drama status with 40% before the end?) kakashi: I haven't seen the ratings for this weeks episodes yet. It's very possible, yes .

We're almost at the end but not quite and this episode turns out to be a real treat. Long live a 50+ episode crazy drama I will never forget! PS: Both episodes (49 and 50) of Jangbori were preempted this weekend due to sport - which means this show will air its last episode (52) on October 12. JoAnne: Which completely fucks up my mentally-prepared watching schedule for the shows on my list. You've seen the list. It's extensive. I may need an intervention.

Dear Readers, I'm sorry for the delay. Subs @viki were not accessible for me (and still are not) but I'm trying other ways. Like subbing with incomplete subs. Oh well. I bet the only bits that aren't subbed are not my Kim Ji-hoon's bits so I don't care. Can he sign on to a drama in which he has more scenes and one which is not more than 16 episodes? Thank you. JoAnne: Life is hard for a Kim Ji-hoon recapper. You work very hard for your guy. I just stare at My Beloveable and croon at the screen about his pretty face and his soothing voice and his adorable butt.  kakashi: There was so little of the adorable butt of my guy in soon 50 episodes :( By the way, people - Episode 49 of Jang Bori was preempted due to - I think? - basketball. Baseball? Some kind of ball.

거짓말 , 거짓말, 거짓말! Min-jung, DIIIIIIE! Also, I'm bored. This drama isn't what it once was. Or maybe I'm not what I once was? This drama has changed me. Forever. JoAnne: Everyone's tired, let's clean up and go home. That face is not acting. That face is mugging. Let's wrap it up.

Many things are changing in my life (i.e, new semester, new home), but some things just stay the same ... We're at The END minus 6 episodes and Min-jung is going as strong as ever - if not even stronger. I did think I would be sad once this is over but now I think I'm going to be quite glad. Cause it means my life will finally be free of that Witch. JoAnne: It's just that there's SO MUCH going on these days! We won't have time to miss anyone here because we'll be head over heels with Bad Guys. And before I even get into THAT I've got My Beloved back again starting tonight! Plus, yes, a dozen other shows. (I am most excited for pictures of the new house, though.)

"Hello! My name is Little Dirty Secret and I really want out! Let me out! Ouuuuuuut!". Yup, it's about time, I'd say. But once again, we're not quite there. But almost. In this episode, Min-jung finds a new enemy, which is BaDIL and the two women do all kinds of threatening and counter-threatening, with a little help from various friends. JoAnne: I'm laughing because I immediately thought of 'Little Dirty Secret' as though it were Little Kei. It wants out it wants out it wants ouuuuuut let it out! kakashi: Help! She's now joebbing KimJiCaps, too!

Getting my hands on a subbed version for this addiction of ours was quite hard this week, and with every hour that went by, my desperation grew. Yup, it was withdrawal. No point in denying it. But here we are and on we go. This episode brings more reveals, as it should. Cause we're running out of episodes. And there's still so many bad, dark secrets. And we still need time to see Min-jung BURN. I'm buying wood and fuel for the fire. JoAnne: I thoroughly enjoyed the way you coded your tweets as you explained the problem, though.  You are brilliantilone that wayvikiay.

We're at 33% and over in terms of ratings and there is truly no stopping this wonderfully crazy drama, which is now rushing and gushing towards its certain end. Who will live and who will die? Or rather: who will live happily ever after and who will live miserably in hell or worse? There's a few things to resolve and all of a sudden, 8 episodes don't seem even remotely enough time. Can we get an extension, please? JoAnne: Oooh, a second season! MinJung: Her life as a Ragpicker.

I'm sitting in the lobby of the SqueeCon14 hotel here in Washington (which happens to be the Hilton). I'm glad to report that I have secured a corner-spot, which means I can start recapping this without scaring any political scientists senseless.... Okay, that was before I starting screaming and crying while watching this. Sorry, political scientists. JoAnne: I made no apologies. Of course, I'm not sitting in a hotel lobby.

I can't believe we're at episode 40?! What happened?! And when?! Where did my time go?! Why didn't I notice?! Ahhhhhh! >.< This episode is FULL of Kim Ji-hoon in a white shirt, which ... *fans herself*. Never has he looked better to me. Thank you! JoAnne: He looks better shirtless in pajama bottoms, as I recall. I do love a man in pajama bottoms, slung low across the hips. Yes.

Yaaaaaaaaaah! Oh yes, they did it AGAIN! What an episode. It actually had me on the edge of my seat ... well, I was laying down while watching it, but you know what I mean. Oh man. So GOOD! Thank you, Bi-dan, for doing something really stupid, because I absolutely loved this hour and what it revealed. And by the end of this? Min-jung is so BUSTED. Bustedish. She is going down. Downish. JoAnne: I immediately started Episode 40 because hello, excitement! and then remembered I should stop, breathe, comment here, etc. SO GOOD.

This is the episode in which almost everybody cries (including me). Also, things get uglier on all fronts, only Kim Ji-hoon stays equally beautiful throughout. Hahaha, how cheesy.   JoAnne: Now that we are stalking multiple 'Bori' actors on Twitter and Instagram (such is our obsession at this point) it's easy to see how much FUN these people are having with this show.  It's even slightly possible that they are having more fun doing it than we are watching it, even.

Get some tissue ready for the latter part of this episode ... we're here! We've done it! The big seeeeeeeecret! It is out! (On another note, Kim Ji-hoon is quasi absent from this episode, but hey! All in all, over 50 episodes, there will be a lot of him. So I'm not complaining. Or only a little) JoAnne: Man. I need to go hug my daughter. (Starts crying again because, can't right now.)

Alright! We're getting nowhere in this episode, but in a good way. This is what this drama does really well: satisfy us. Why? No, it's not the kisses. For that, you have to go watch It's Okay, It's Love (does SBS think it's cable?! Hot damn! *fans itself*). But I think it satisfies some moral need we have: that bad people get punished the way they deserve to be punished. It's slow punishment, but that makes it all the better. And it satisfies because the good people get rewarded. Slowly as well, but seriously, it's the slowness that is half the fun. JoAnne: I've said before that I'm surprised at how I never ever ever get tired of Min Jung's antics and the Anti-Min Jungers thwarting of same, but it bears repeating. That's a tribute to the writing, which is actually pretty good - but so is the acting, believe it or not. The bad guys are playing very much against type, it turns out, and the good guys were always adorable so that's not much ...

"IT WAS SO GOOD" --- that's what JoAnne wrote into a yet empty blog post. And indeed, it IS. How exactly this show manages to keep us engaged like this, how it has turned into absolute crack, I don't know for certain. Is it the magical working of the Great Hanbok? In any case, the format of this episode is slightly different - since all the storylines merge this week, I couldn't single out any bits for "the Rest". Well, a tiny few bits. But very tiny. JoAnne: I hate it when I watch an episode and then can't find you on Twitter, now.  (yeah, sorry. Not my fault I need to sleep from time to time) I want to share my happiness at just how many people are screwing up MinJung's terribly laid plans. Right away!

Jang Bori Is Here! - Episode 34 (KimJiCap)

This is the almost wedding episode! Oh boy, I can't wait to see it go downhill for the Bitch-Troll ... and the downhill is coming, that much is clear! I mean, she's already on a slope so steep you can't see the bottom! There's not enough Kim Ji-hoon in this episode though (I think I've had to say that before), but the little bit we get is GREAT! Anyway, this creates an issue for my KimJiCaps. If I put all the Kim Ji-hoon unrelated stuff down into "The Rest", there will be almost nothing in the main text. You people don't care about things like that? Thought so. JoAnne: Well we see what YOU care about, anyway! I'm just worried about the rest of the drama, because if we're already at the wedding... so is she going to get caught and not marry or is she going to get married and then caught? I'm guessing married and then caught (you know, later, after she ruins more lives) which means she has to ignore that... situation that is coming. PS I am ...

Woah, people! Look at the ratings for this week's episodes! 34 got more than 25% and it seems it's going up by the week. Well deserved, I'd say, because this drama just got a bit better AGAIN. As always, "better" means something slightly special in the world of crazy weekend dramas, but this is definitely not a bad drama! If you're not already watching, this is definitely the episode to get started with! JoAnne: Then again, why on earth would you want to miss even a second of any of it? What's happening now is all the more sweet for what we went through with the characters to get here, no? And I don't mean it was torture. For them, maybe. Not for us.
