The Problematic of the Unproblematic

kakashi: A wonderful ending to a truly great drama! JoAnne: Come down off the mountain, Kakashi. The thin air is affecting you. Shuk: [drinking and humming] "Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away / If you could use some exotic booze / There's a bar in far Bombay....."

kakashi: I was spoiled by HanCinema! I'm sooooo aaaangry! I immediately blocked them on Facebook cause I can't have that happen again. Now, all the tension is gone and I was so going to enjoy this episode. JoAnne:  Well I had no idea what was coming.  Although I do already know now that a lot of people die in the NEXT episode and that the ending sucks, but after this episode I really don't care.  And since I watched this episode before writing my comments for 16,17, or 18, I think my no longer caringness showed there.  Guess what? I don't care about that either.  This is now a Stew Cap.  I am stewing. Shuk: Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?

kakashi:  Horrible stuff happens in this episode - look! JoAnne:  Rumor has it she just saw the script for the finale. Shuk: I share her expression.

kakashi: Much happens in this episode. Like ... vampire fights! Talking! Sitting around! Talking! Walking through corridors! There's blood, too! JoAnne: It's all enough to tire out a poor wee pampire boy. Shuk: I can't even believe her. Or course I can't believe I'm still sticking with this.

This episode continues with the thrilling gut-wrenching tension-ridden action. You are not a good liar. [snicker]

kakashi: Ah, it’s been a while. I haven’t missed this at all and haven’t missed anything either. This is SO BORING. Nothing happens. Nothing at all. It’s a miracle more than 0.5% of all Koreans watch it. Maybe it’s the people who fall asleep in front of the TV and don’t switch it off when Blood comes on? JoAnne: It's not THAT bad. It's unfortunate that they're taking such a long time to tell a story that could have been told in fewer episodes, that's all. And ok, our lead is green with a capital G...but he has his moments.  Shuk: I'm just in this to see how much mental pain I can survive.

kakashi:  In this drama that never ends, big discoveries are being made in this episode. I think. JoAnne:  Gawd, I don't remember. I remember liking the week's episodes, mostly. Then I reminded myself of how bad the acting is - it's not terrible, it's just.... Ahn Jae Hyuk needs work, and Gu Hye Sun, well - I think she can do it, but her choices this time around sometimes grate painfully. So even if I like some of the stuff the story is doing, I never fully engage because I'm watching THEM. Shuk: I literally watch it to comment, then delete it promptly and never think of it again.

Don't take the drug, Ji-sang. Don't! Too late. Yep.

kakashi:  Whoever is writing this show has no clue how to write a show. They get absolutely nothing right. And I mean that, nothing. Neither the humor, not the romance, nor the hospital stuff, nor the tension. Nothing. Shuk: Was that actually news? JoAnne: Come on. The sunglasses are funny. Is it news to us that we two might, in fact, not have the same sense of humor?! Was that actually news either?

Is this still on? Damn, it is! But at least, we seem to be over the halfway mark! It does seem like a really long time between episodes, for some reason. Maybe I should watch it later in the week. Are you telling me to hurry up or something? *narrow eyes of suspicion* Not at all! I'm saying I shouldn't watch it until later in the week so that it's more fresh in my mind. Since I'm bringing up the rear, I'm at your tender mercies.

kakashi:  I know for a fact that JoAnne slept through half of this episode (Twitter is my witness!). Let's see how we will manage this fake-truth game then :D JoAnne:  Ah, but I was an unreliable narrator:  I actually slept through ALL of this episode.  It had nothing to do with the episode, though, which I enjoyed very much.  Yes, I mean that.  Although I do have a lot of snark about it, at least I did when watching - I kept imagining how I would caption various screen shots, a la Unkind Women. (Which, by the way, is now my favorite thing to do - relieved of the burden of providing the screen shots, which I HATE doing - as we discovered during the short and ill-fated run of Night Watchman.) Shuk: I don't even watch it before I comment; its so much easier on my blood pressure.

Yeah, alright, this continues and so do we. By the way, how's the soundtrack for this thing? Fakecapping with the sound off has clear disadvantages... JoAnne: They use a lot of moody old fashioned vampire movie background music, which is always funny. I haven't really noticed the OST though, to tell you the truth. Shuk: The music keeps jumping out at me, more for the mood whiplash than anything. But there have been some interesting choices.

This is getting better and better. The tension is unreal. It's probably the surprise of the year! I'm tired of the band aid. There better be a tattoo under there. Shuk: It's a tattoo of a pair of lips, two punctures, and script that reads "I Love You Mom"

Another super-exciting episode. Yes, I'm not kidding you! It is! It really is! JoAnne: Ok well we know I'm liking this little doofus of a drama, but I don't trust you. Shuk: [gulping back a couple of soju shots]

So I might have fallen behind on this. A bit. A BIT. Hence my decision to simply Fakecap 3 episodes in one go. It has never been done before, but I'm all about breaking records. So, here we go. I also discovered the "Float on top" option on VLC player. I heart you, VLC developers! Cause that means I can "watch" this, write this recap and do other things next to it. Life is good. Shuk: For some reason, my normal video player wasn't working, so I used VLC as my backup as well. It's didn't help improve the plot any, though. ((So that decision to Fakecap 3 episodes in one go? I failed :D)) I now am fond of Pampire, tolerating Ri Ta, and enjoying the story less ironically and more geekily. Of course, that isn't really true back here at Episode 6, but it's starting.  Go ahead and laugh.   Hey, I'm having fun with this too. I'm laughing .  

Shuk: Since everyone is busy, I'm going to take the bull(sh$) by the horns, and recap / gif this episode. Call it my Lenten penance or something. kakashi: So I might have felt a bit, a tiny, atomic bit interested while watching this. I'm glad the atrocious acting (his, mainly) cured me immediately of any sentiments I might be starting to develop. That's what I wrote a week ago and then, RL sucked me in. And Blood was forgotten. Or rather, put on a loooooooong To-Do list, where it started to rot, until Shuk kindly unrotted it. I'm not doing this one. The floor is yours, JoAnne and Shuk!  Shuk: How I feel about even trying to recap this thing.  

kakashi: Ah, what an adventure! JoAnne managed to completely obliterate Episode 3's FakeCap, but we restored it, like a vampire's life is restored when somebody kills him. Well, in other vampire stories. In this one, blue light can hurt a vampire and weird glitter stuff in syringes kills them. In this episode, Blood continues with its perfect mix of drugs, sex, and rock'n'roll. JoAnne: It's growing on you, isn't it. You'll say you're being sarcastic, but I know. Shuk: I almost cried last episode. But that was only because I had to rewatch it. RIP Leonard Nimoy ......... *sadness*

(Un)fortunately (?), more than 900 people have read our previous posts. Much more. So we'll continue this (ad)venture here (for the time being). I'm almost hoping for this to be as bad or worse as last week's episodes. I also realized I need to step up on the fakeness, because we were really not even close to being fake enough. So this is what I'll do ... I'll watch without sound and subs this time round, but take into consideration "spoilers" I have seen on twitter. I'M SO EXCITED. Nothing you can come up with is going to match the WTFness of some of the dialogue from this episode. (Also, Cass said we could put her awesome video in a BloodCap !) Here we go again. Episode 1 took me far too much time to recap, even raw and I cried and cried all night over the lost time I put into that because y'all know what I would much rather recap. Still, at least there is Ku Hye-sun now. Let the bloodfest begin. Also, the same disclaimer applies: watching and recapping raw, but getting it (almost) all right. I think. JoAnne: And I will try not to use all my best reactions during the live tweet but people, seriously, the horror is real... I may not be able to hold it in. Shuk: [sigh] The things we do for you, our faithful squeeglets. 

A new drama! Aren't we all glad! And one about vampires! I absolutely LOVE vampires! But I don't love kid-stories and wasn't warned at all that we had some terribly booooooooooooooring backstory to go through. This drama is so shockingly bad, I don't even know what to say. Look at it this way - the kid wasn't any better than the grown up, so it's not like we had time or inclination to love them young and then spend 10 or 12 episodes resenting the grown ups.  Plus it was just that one episode. Shuk: Would this be a good time to go back and rewatch BOFiasco , rather than watch this? I think so, Shuk. And I'm serious . *Disclaimer: I'm recapping this on a raw version. What I say may or may not have occurred this way. I wish they would have said more and/or the plot were a bit more complicated, because I'm quite certain I got it all right. I watched raw and then subbed. Look what I do for you people!  Plus I live-tweeted both versions. I wonder if...
